Home D has this brand in plastic and two different types, identified by the color of the packaging. The channel packaged in blue is a flat oval but without any way to attach it to the wall or ceiling. I'm guessing it gets nailed or screwed to the surface. The channel packaged in green is more rounded and has a peel off sticky on the back.

I plan on using 14-3 wire in the channel (black, white and ground, all wrapped together in a flat pkg). Is there any reason to pick one channel (and associated elbows, boxes, etc) over the other?

If I go with the flatter oval channel, would simply double sided tape work to hold the channel on the ceiling, or wall?

They sell the straps separate from the wiremold, I've seen most of the stick on ones fall off so I would go with the other style and but the straps

The non-metallic Wiremold® surface raceway cannot be used for line voltage conductors attached to the surface solely w/ the self adhesive backing, they have to be fastened by other means, when used for low voltage applications the adhesive is fine by it's self, I would only use the NM for low voltage it's too cheesy for line voltage use IMHO.

Straight runs you would be OK with NM.

If you have any elbows in the system, though, it would pay to use 3 individual wires. The elbows don't have enough bending space to accommodate the Romex. (by Code and the Law of Pains in the Neck)

14-3 NM(Romex) is black white red and ground(the ground wire isnt counted!) and is not flat, its round. If u only need 2 conductor, then u would need 14-2 NM w/ grd...
