Has anyone else bought one of these off eBay?

My instructions were all in Chinese and the wiring isn't super obvious.

Help please :)

It's just written. No pictures and I tried using Google translate but nothing made any sense.

Does it have wire leads hanging out, or terminals you need to connect to? If it runs on 120vac, I suspect all you need to do is connect up a hot, neutral and ground - there's a timer built in, so once it's powered up it should automatically open and close, based on how you set the timer.

Looking at similar timers online, the seconds knob controls how long it purges, and the minute knob controls the delay time in between purge cycles, so it will purge for ** seconds every ** minutes.

It only had terminals and no markings.

I guess I should pull out the multi meter and look which is ground.

Here is what's under the cap. Since it's foreign I don't want to assume ground on top

Since it should be a resistive load, u could ohm out the connectors and see which ones have resistance....

I've installed many of them that weren't Chinese copies. They all had a regular 120VAC , 15A power cord. My guess would be H, N & Ground. I have NO idea what terminals get what wire, though...

Should be some kind of terminal identification.

What about on the inside of the cover, nothing?

Otherwise, just do as Wylie suggested.

Will follow up tonight but absolutely no info on the device or packaging.

Hopefully the ohm test will give me what I need to know!

Thanks folks!

Here you go, maybe you can PM member Venom2164 Here is his post: Today I added a Timed Automatic Drain Valve

Looks like he has the same one as yours. Maybe he will remove the cover and snap a pic for you to see the wiring.

Get in touch with Venom2164, his looks very similar.

If you don't hear from him I would take a multi meter, set to ohms, and test between each of the leads, recording the resistance between each. It should just be a solenoid coil that opens a cartridge valve. The two leads that have resistance between them (30-50 ohms is common in 12v circuits, I'm not sure about 110vac) are what I would hook my hot and common leads to, then ground to the remaining terminal.
