The framing for my new garage has just been finished. I'm doing most of the wiring myself but am not sure of how to wire my overhead lights. I'd rather they be "direct wired", rather than have a plug running to a receptacle I'd mount on the truss.
If they are direct wired, I'm guessing I just can't run the Romex into the box of the light. Can I use a strain relief like I'd do if using a metal box for wall receptacles?
What would be the proper NEC way to do this? NEC 2017 in my area. Will be inspected by the county.
What are your recommendations for direct wire vs plug into receptacle?
Thanks.
