I have broken my favourite household scissors.
It's a pair of US made Wiss scissors and I think they are maybe 30 years old.
The outside ring of the plastic bushing has broken off.
I hope there is a service part for it, but it's probably easier to replace it.
I find that I'm a bit sentimental about this pair of scissors.
A long time ago, when I was just a kid, my father brought a sample of some scissors home from work. It was a 3-piece set with two scissors, this one and a smaller one.
I can remember that I was impressed with the quality and feel of the scissors. I thought the smaller pair would be ideal to use for building model-kits, so I confiscated them.
Years later, when I was moving from home, I persuaded my mother to give me these household scissors for my new home.
I have used/abused them for all sorts of things.
Just recently I realized they where made in the US. In my country(The Netherlands) most good quality scissors are from Germany(Solingen) or England(Sheffield).
So that is why I think when I broke them today I got a little bit sentimental about them.
Thank you for reading!
