Where's the best place to buy wix filters?
I believe Napa Gold filters are made by Wix.
They must not carry all PNs in bulk - I just looked for a 1213MP on the Napa site, but nothing comes up.Mann+Hummel (Wix's parent company) makes a few different quality levels of filters. The Partsmaster filter, O'Really? filter, and the NAPA Silver filter are all mid-level filters. True Wix and NAPA Gold filters are where it's at, IMHO. If you REALLY want to save on these filters, hit NAPA during a promo, AND ask for the "MP" (master pack) version of their Gold filter. (Example, my Ranger takes the Wix 51372, so I order NAPA 1372MP....) Same filter, sold in bulk packaging rather than individually boxed. (They are individually shrink-wrapped, though.) Lower price, and many NAPA stores will sell them individually, even though they are meant to be sold in 6 or 12 pack cases.

Sorry not Wix but for any post-PH8A Ford apps or anything using M22 threads (like newer Hemis) I just order the Motorcraft FL820S on Amazon for $4 ea.
Sometimes these are an add-on item, sometimes not. If they are I once just ordered enough of that filter to hit the threshold.
I personally don't pay more than $4 per filter or $2 per quart of oil. If a complete oil change w 7 qts (as a common capacity for many newer gas trucks) costs me over $20 I'm doing something wrong.
Doesn't surprise me - the last application for this filter stopped production in 1999.Sorry, Paul, not all filters are offered in MP versions. The 1213 is a BMW cartridge filter, and probably not popular enough to warrant a master-packed version (from a bulk sales and inventory standpoint, not that there aren't a bunch of BMWs on the road....)
NAPA typically has a filter sale around this time of year. My local store advertises with a small sign on the door.
Farm filter sale or something like that. They're usually around 50-60% off.
The Microgard stuff at O'Reilly is just mid-grade Wix (I personally don't really think of Wix as offering a "low" grade). The part numbers are essentially identical, too
Or on Amazon
THE BEST is to wait until your local NAPA, Carquest, Parts City does their bi-annual (spring and fall) filter sale. They're usually 50% off and even Amazon can't come close on my applications. I really stock up on the expensive ones like Dmax fuel filters (often go for $26-27 at these sales)

RockAuto gets 4.76 each, or 4.14 each for a 12-pack of 51372's, plus shipping.
I get a 1372MP for 5.03, and can walk across the street and have it in 2 minutes.
Any off-brand or white box auto part using a nationally-known part number (or derivative of it) is using it for easy identification/cataloging purposes, not to signify that they are made by that particular company. And even if they ARE being made/distributed by that company, they aren't the exact same product. NAPA's economy line Proformer Chassis parts use the Moog numbering system, but they don't come from Moog, and NAPA's premium chassis parts have their own numbering system, but come from Mevotech in Ontario, Canada, who also supplies other private label brands (of differing qualities, BTW) with parts using Moog-derived numbering....

I stock up once every 1-2 years and buy them from fleet filter.

You can buy FL820S at Walmart $7.14 for 2.
I would buy in bulk if I could get my part numbers to come up, but I can not find it online. WL10060 and WF10245 for my ecodiesel.
I am going to have to keep an eye out for this, I signed up for the emails so that I can hopefully get a few of these since I use about 5 or so sets of the filters every year.
So far these are the best price, but shipping is killer. Do they ever offer free shipping? I signed up for the emails just to see.

On the Mann-Hummel manufacturing.....
Over the weekend a buddy came by to change his oil in my garage. He had a Purolator oil filter he got at Advance Auto.
I happened to notice on the box that it was made by Mann-Hummel.
Don't know what it means, just to add to this thread.
