Finding information about this company is a challenge but none the less it can be done. Some of the information (without seeing much historical archives will have lots of blanks so keep that in mind).
What I do know is the company of WM Johnson started in 1830 in Newark, N. J. Mr. Johnson was a prominent businessman in Newark by 1872. His company made hand tools and carpenters tools. Many of his tools were Forged steel and cast iron in nature and he made a lot of tools for the brick & masonry trades; his company was then sold in 1938 to the C.S. Osborne & Co. of Newark N.J.
I will have lots of links and some pictures of his tools if some very kind GJ member can work their magic and make the E-bay type links remain for all time I would be very appreciative Thanks in advance.
