Looking good

I like the gauges you have chosen.
Keen to see what the bed will look like. Can you tell us more about that front end now ?
The front end is a widened L300. (62mm over standard)
I thought it was 50mm (2") wider when I bought it, and the extra width has meant a brake change on the rear to widen the track a bit to stay legal.
No big deal (I hope) I have some later ones already.
It's fitted with a Leyland p76 rack (or should that be P38, cause they where only half the car they where meant to be

)
They are front steer which usually get changed to rear for correct ackerman & easier set up, but the akerman is near spot on in the long wheel base.
(wheel base is 3760mm.......148" for you others

)
It came out of an early F100 as is (same width chassis as the one I have) but I will be changing it to power steer.
For those who don't know. an L300 is a Mitsy 2wd van.(they also come in 4wd)
I chose this front end as it is the only 'rated' one at 2 tonne, 1 tonne carying capacity.
I did want to go all F100, but that would put me into the commercial class as would have the duallies I wanted to run on the rear.
As everything is on the heavy duty side with this build, but not commercial (other wise it would be treated as such & the whole thing would have to be engineered) I figured it was the one to use, especially after I found this one cheap
I have done a little home work on setting up the brakes.
I wil be running Ford Territory front rotors (322mm & almost the same offest as Ford) with Falcon BA calipers (they are 2 spot with wider pads than AU2) and I will have the hubs machined to suit the L300 bearings (L300 stubs are thicker than Ford & there fore have larger bearings and seals) but it will be in Ford stud pattern to take the rotors.
I will custom make some calipers brakets.
The paper work is now done & I will be submitting it on Wed. so here's hoping it will be accpeted as is.
What is the F1 ??? Is that for a customer or another project ?
The '48 F1 is a customers project.
