I'm 6'2", built my bench height at 42". I stand straight up when working in front of it. Had it a couple of years now, love it.

Interesting thread. I'll have to check the height of mine later. I'm curious if the 'elbow' approach is where mine is at. Will advise.....

Built this bench in the mid 80's and it still gets used all the time. Built a detachable mount for my B&D 8 1/4" table saw (also mid 80's) that gets screwed solidly to the legs and the saw gets screwed to the mount. makes a great outfeed table.

After much thinking and trying to do it harder than it really was I came up with a cheap alternative. Used what I had on hand. I do have to cut a larger platform piece.
Bench looks good, the only change I would have made is having the door overhang the sides of the bench so you have room for clamps.
I love it, I bought a skillz one day after Thanksgiving and I hated it. Found this one on sale at HD and they let me use a Haber freight 20% so I got it for 200.00. No more than what I use it it's great. How do you like the Dewalts table saw ? I was thinking of doing a similar setup, that would include a mitre saw in another slot. I looked at the Dewalts a couple of days ago, seems like for my type of use, it would be great. My BroInLaw bought himself a Pro level Rigid stand alone two days ago, really sweet.
