And a few more...

4'x4' pads for the A/C. Or maybe I use one for an A/C with dual units inside and then use the second one for installing the air compressor in an enclosure?? Would be nice not having that noise inside the workshop...

Looking great! Love the extra pads outside to help keep the noisy stuff outside and not take up valuable space inside!
Only if I can make/buy enclosures to keep the noise to a minimum. I have good neighbors and want to keep happy as well. Reason why I might just replace what I have for one of those quiet compressors....

They went through the rear left side gate... not via the one in the previous photo... So they were able to pour the concrete starting at the front gate and move back to the shop... So yes, they drove over the area getting the concrete... the guys had to lay the wire mesh as the truck backed out... I hope that made sense, lol.

Personally I vote both. I'm planning on an EMAX compressor AND a sound deadening enclosure to minimize the noise. As someone with kids who has limited hours after kids fall asleep to work, I'll do whatever it takes to not wake people up.

Congrats on the concrete. As someone who had a multi month gap between shop and driveway, it's a nice game changer.

looks fantastic! Only thing I would suggest is a french drain or something to divert water coming off that apron towards your house. It rains a lot in Florida from what I remember :)
Good idea... I will need to figure something out. There is around 6' of lawn between the house and the driveway... but not sure is that will be enough on its own. The ground here drains quickly, but a french drain will make sure that it all works well... will report back when the raining season starts again.

Small stuff done.

Both air compressors wired and connected. All I need to do now is run air lines. In a year, or two, these get replaced by one quiet one…

We got final inspection certificate today for the electrical. Officially done on that front.

Painted the conduit on the side of the building to make it disappear…

The hand rails are there to see if they would work…since I had those from a ramp… still not sure if I want to use those or make some that also go down the sides of the steps…

@wachuko, we don't get much freezing weather so maybe not critical. For me, the older I get the more I appreciate having something to hold onto when climbing up or down steps (sometimes even on flat surfaces when taking a shower). I'd go with hand rails that go down the sides of the steps.

Bob, I agree as well. I am not getting any younger and side rails all the way from the steps to the door, would be the way to go. I will make those in a couple of months.

Looking at doing the ceiling myself by using those PVC panels that are available... sent an email to the local provider to get a quote on the materials. If I use their online application, it is around 8K for the whole interior (all walls and ceiling), but no way to calculate just doing the ceiling with their app.

Based on 30'x30' @ around 3.75 (max) per square foot, looking at less than $3,375.00 for the whole ceiling...

I can do it myself, no finishing or painting involved... Thoughts?

Everything turned out real nice.
I wish my concrete vendor would have thought of plastic when my driveway was poured.
Ended up spending a couple hours pressure washing my doors and siding of splatter when I got home that day.

Little bit of progress... slow, but progress nonetheless. Primer followed by some paint... The wall on the end has primer, as well as the end of the side wall. The front section already has a coat of semi-gloss paint.

Painted the side wall and the section of the end wall that had primer... and I just had to hang up a few things for ongoing motivation. We have a 12 year old TV that we are no longer using... figured I would hang it up as well... just filling the space on the walls. Looks small for a 75" diag TV... and also putting up some metal posters I have...

Placed the poster of a Triumph Daytona 675.. this was their promotional poster when it first came out. I had placed a deposit on one as soon as it was announced. I got their marketing department to send out the poster with a hat and a few other gifts, to the first 100 customers that placed a deposit on it. I was kind of proud of making that happened...

Porsche 917 over the TV and several posters of the Oracle Team USA America's Cup catamaran...

And how did we get that TV up there? In the most Benny Hill way… cue the music!

Enough of a break... let me keep going...

@wachuko, that looks so refined to me. Then again the Benny Hill theme song is always playing in some part of my brain. I would have started building a 4x4 crib and lifting that one layer at a time. My collection of un-rotted pieces of replaced 4x4 fence posts is part of my hoard children's inheritance. I've used them for all kinds of things, including A/C units.

I know you are going to have air conditioning but I see there's no insulation in the ceiling or on the garage doors. Tourist season is over soon, which means the other season is right on its heels. I leave a trail of body fluids that leak out of my skin when I work outside in nature's oven or inside my vehicle air fryer. I assume insulation in the ceiling and doors is on the list along with those split units you mentioned that will sit on one or both pads outside.

My 32" flatscreen in the garage has died so I will be Benny Hilling the replacement one of these days.

Your place is looking fantastic so congratulations on the progress.

Bob, thank you. I will insulate the ceiling after I order and install the Trusscore panels.

I do plan to insulate the garage doors as well. It is just so difficult to find the pink XPS foam panels. All I find locally are the white ones (which are less effective). But no matter, those will get something on them to improve insulation.

I melt faster than normal humans... I really need A/C as soon as possible... . The rust on my machines is not humidity in the air... they rust every time I touch them. My sweat is hard on them, and it is like it is raining on the machine... you see me cleaning and oiling them right after I use them. Learned that quickly with the lathe... Not even funny anymore...

Your space is looking great. (y) I noticed you used hockey pucks as well for your compressor footing, I did the same. We have pretty well the same compressor, mine is a Sanborn. Reminds me i should do a drain on mine.

I have couple of bags of hockey pucks!! LOL. I use them a lot!

On the air compressors. It served me well. I had it for over 20 years. The other one was from a friend that passed away and left me all his tools... We bought them around the same time. I have another one, that my brother gave me, in the garage in the house.

But those two red ones are gone as of last weekend. I want to get one that is quiet and with dryer... still trying to decide which one to get. Something that will get me better air for the CNC plasma cutter.

One went to my cousin and the other one to a good friend. A lot of life left in them as I made sure to change the oil often and cleaned the filter.

OMG, it's not just me. I was helping a friend prep his '59 Corvette for a show. Polished the kidney bean aluminum rims before getting new tires installed. Pneumatic die grinder with a small buffing wheel was doing a great job. My friend was sitting on the driveway next to me polishing some engine parts. He looked over and asked if I was OK. I said: "I'm fine, why do you ask?" He pointed to the puddle of sweat I was sitting in and I laughed. He was dry as a bone. His wife worked in a dialysis unit and said my sweating was saving my kidneys a lot of work. I keep a can of WD-40 close by everywhere I go.

When we crossed the Mojave desert in 1955 (no A/C in the car or trailer) my father made a big deal of us drinking lots of water and taking salt tablets every day. These days I have to avoid sodium if I want to prevent my blood pressure going up.

About 20 years ago I started having terrible leg and arm cramps. Not sure how but I discovered it was my potassium levels but the cramps came on in the evening after sweating a lot during the day. Drinking gallons of water didn't help but potassium gluconate tablets (8 at a time) would give immediate relief. Each tablet contains 99mg of potassium (2% of Daily Value) so 8 tablets provided 792mg (18%). I was sometimes forced to take eight tablets 5 times in one night because the cramps kept returning. That's 3,960mg (90%). I was getting worried I would do permanent damage.

To make things worse, a side-effect of one of the prostate cancer treatment drugs I take lowers potassium levels. Just kill me already!

Several people suggested Gatorade but that stuff had no effect (OK, maybe a little sugar buzz). When Liane suffered leg cramps, our primary care doctor told her to take a tablespoon of yellow mustard (she claims that works) but it contains no potassium but does contain 270mg sodium so no thank you. I discovered what I think is a safe source of potassium: V8 (brand and generic) juice. The Gatorade and V8 (low sodium) labels explain the difference:
Gatorade
Potassium in Gatorade.jpg
V8 (Low Sodium)
Potassium in V8 Juice 480.jpg
I keep a half-gallon jug of V8 in the garage refrigerator and after a few hours of sweating and lots of water, I drink one or two little Solo cups of V8 and put 850-1,700mg of potassium in my system. The second cup is consumed if and when I feel that twinge that preceeds the 'hard to walk-' or 'can't open my hand-' level cramp. It's amazing how quickly you learn to react to avoid those full-on cramps.

Thank you! Glad to know I am not alone and that it is not abnormal... I have been sweating like this all my life. I only drink water, lots of water... do not drink sodas at all. I never liked Gatorade... I did not know about V8... I am not into veggies, I know, I know, it is good for you... so far, no cramps... fingers crossed that it stays that way...

Congrats on getting the garage and property set up the way you want it. Looks great.
Thank you.

Some more primer on the walls... you can tell where it is painted and where it is only primer because of the semi-gloss finish.

Nice. Love the signs and anything over 4 different beers is a plus. 👍

Thank you! Still missing some beer from Spain (Mahou and Estrella).

I only drink the Michelob Ultra Gold... beer that is as close to water as I can find  .
Wife likes those Michelob Fusion... the rest are for friends when they stop by.

Two more boxes off the floor!! Woohooo!!!

Wife also wanted to make sure I did not go over that side with the Jeep... so we planted something in there to stop me from doing so...

WS-2025.jpeg
WS-2026.jpeg

And redid the mulch. Also made a section with river rocks for better drainage. Looking at it now, I will extended to a width that will match where the hose reel is...

That is 6' from the driveway to the wall...maybe I should also incorporate the idea previously mentioned, and do the french drain while I am at it... So far, no issues with drainage. Wife wanted the rocks to be able to have an area where she can wash the shoes before going inside. That is 5" deep by 30" wide by 6' long. All full of rock with a barrier at the bottom (perforated cloth/mesh).

I have been carrying this painting that was on a wall in my father's office... always hoping it will be discovered to be one of the paintings of a famous artist and, even in its dire condition, be worth millions... Yes, I have a vivid imagination
