I have also test fitted the split system head and cut related holes and finished the door frame.

Still need to paint the floor, install lights, have power fitted off and connected, mount work benches, build shelves, install guttering and down pipe, stain ply on wall unit + door frame + legs on work benches. but in the scheme of things I think im on the home straight

Ok finished early today, so I came home to tackle another of those little jobs

I'd scored a couple of bar stools, both needed to have the cheap covering replaced and turns out the sponge wasn't much chop either, lucky for me we had some felt covered sponge at work that I could use plus there was some material saved from when I trimed out the motorhome.

So I pulled off all the old stuff, cut and glued the new sponge on, stapled the fabric to them & Bam 2 comfy bar stools

Okay so here we are, I'm absolutely stoked with how everything has come up so far! (considering i'm a complete amateur :D )
As you will see from the pics, the floor is painted in a dark grey the workbenches are in with their proper legs (100x100 with a chamfer around the bottom). I have stain the entertainment / compressor area aswell as the door frame and the bench legs, All the power and lighting is done (9 twin caged fluros, 7 wall mounted energy savers, 20 power points and a new sub power board for it all And if any of you Victorians need a great sparky Give Craig @ Malleys electrical a call (see attached card) I have made the steel frame for the door and just need to cover.

Things left to do

1: skirting around bottom of walls
2: build storage shelves in tge empty corner
3: sort all my gear out
4: get hydraulic work bench
5: Build some ****** bikes! 4 ;D lol

anyway heres some pics, I hope you enjoy
Andy........

:D
Nicely done. What product / brand did you use on the floor ?

Thanks mate, I used Eco floor (ebay from SE Melb) 20 litres, enough to cover 120 sqm with 2 coats. However i'm just going to be running bikes over it so didnt need to be the heaviest, although the description did say forklifts and such are use on it.just remember to prep your floor correctly, :D

Very cool.
What did you make the bench tops out of?

Cheers Guy, I was lucky enough to be given them :D they are 3m x .9m (around 9'x3') slide whiteboards, 20mm mdf with a 1mm steel ceramic coated top and a 40mm alloy f channel edging :D (about $7500 worth if i had to buy new, what people will throw away)

I've got to give mine a freshen up and put it back on the road. I built an XS650 based cafe about 10 years back and it has been lazing in the back of my shed for the last few. I want to rebuild the motor and give it a big bore kit, new carbs and a permanent magnet alternator.

The bratstyle is getting pretty popular these days. I was working in Japan in the late 90's and started seing the style apear over there. Loads of parts and accessories in the shops over there for SR400/500 based bikes.

Cheers

XS650 Nice!, yeah the sr is extremely popular (great bike for many styles is probably why) Deus up in Sydney has had a major influence on the recent motorcycle culture/trends, getting hard to find suitable bikes at a good price because of it though. We have had to become more inventive with the types of bikes we use to create and it has been surprising what has been used, for example

Thanks for all the support guy's certainly makes all the hard work a lot easier

Anyway so i've been at it again with another of those little projects I needed to get done.
I had these 2 multi draw tool boxes already and had previously attached some wheels to the bottom and stacked them with some alloy legs. Problem with it like this was that you had to bend over to get stuff from the bottom one plus it was to easy just to stack **** all over it as you can see

So dismantle and rebuild with a new wide base, lower storage shelf and a 20mm hardwood top with alloy trim, perforated steel leg supports and of course refit the wheels. Nice little side affect is it is also a perfect height for a bar table with the stools I refurbished earlier

any how heres some pics

Finally i've made the door tried to make it look like an old fort door with the rivets, the frame is a pin bolt hinge job normally used for outside gates, so heavy duty enough

So the shelves worked out sweet "so stoked!" gave the shop a good clean after, now have all my bench space and some organization. still need to take some cleaned up pic's, so all the benches have shelves now (just haven't taken pics of them all)

oh and my wife planking to test them lol....

So now i've decided that the next thing i'm going to do is buid in a small(ish) spray booth instead of the wall shelved i was originally going to do, funny how we change our minds lol.....
