For my two post, (Bendpac) Summit Racing price matched the lowest advertised price I found on the internet. Gave him the link over the phone and he verified it while I was on hold for a minute or two. Took another couple of minutes to run the card, etc and we were done. Summit is a known vendor and I always had good experiences with them.

For the two posts, I looked at multiple dealers but ended up working with two vendors selling essentially the same lift under their own brands , Advantage and Wildfire. I also talked to Foreward and a couple other known brands.

For the rotisserie I went with a sort of local guy that sold Titan lifts and rotisseries. I had talked with him when doing the four post lift research, but wanted two more or less matching lifts, and he didn’t offer an 11 k lift.
When I picked up the rotisserie, I concluded that I could have saved some coin by buying one of the smaller Titan lifts to do what I’m asking my smaller Advantage to do.

Bottom line is there’s nothing wrong in my eyes with going with a budget priced lift as long as you understand what you’re getting into, and what it’s limitations are., especially for a hobby garage. A commercial garage has different requirements.

And don’t give me that “afraid to get under a five thousand pound truck unless it’s a $20000 Mohawk” ********.

I would encourage a new buyer to visit a few showrooms or look at lift displays at large automotive swap meets to familiarize oneself with what’s out there. I probably looked at eight or ten different vendors and a couple of auction / estate sale lifts before I pulled the trigger, and so far, after several years, I’m happy.

Adjusting the cables is a trivial task that anyone who wants or uses a lift should be able to do.

If they can’t do that, I question whether they’re competent enough to safely have a lift in their home garage.

I would never suggest that my brother in law should have or operate a lift. On the other hand no way in hell would he ever want to, so I guess I’m safe.

The point is that the company seems to be more "fly by night" than not, doesn't offer honest answers, and is generally difficult to resolve issues with. Look at what the OP is dealing with and read some reviews.

In answer to you original question "would I regret a 4 post lift" this one you probably would. Do whatever it takes to get away from this Halo lift. They sound like a dumpster fire in the making.

I have 10-4" ceilings in my 2 car garage. Now a 3 car garage with my lift. It included the bridge jack, an additional jack tray, 3 drop trays and casters to move it.
I am considering another lift, but then I would have to do all of my work in front outside of the garage. I am just able to get two of my cars in nicely within the lift area and still be able to work in the bay next to the lift. I have a few inches in between the roof of each car.
Sometimes I regret it due to it does take up alot of floor space, but it does save me for having to pay for storage for one of the cars.

I also added magnetic LED strip lights, no drop lights needed and I made brackets to mount a winch to pull non-running project cars up the driveway and up onto the lift.

Just following up since I started the thread. I ended up ordering a Halo 9k pro lift with a rolling bridge jack. At this point I'm not sure I would recommend them. They were very quick to take my money but then gave me the run around for weeks when I aaked why the invoice didn't include when or where to pick it up. They told me I could avoid shipping costs if I picked it up at their warehouse in new jersey but they refused to tell me where their warehouse was located as well as when I could pick it up. After threatening a chargeback through my credit card company last week they finally admitted they didnt actually have the lift they sold me at a warehouse in new jersey. They agreed to ship one to a freight terminal closer to me and provided a tracking number. That sounded fine but the lift is still showing at the origin location after 5 days and the delivery date keeps slipping out by 1 day every day. The latest estimate has the lift showing up next week but Im not hopeful at this point based on everything that has happened since ordering. Maybe the lift will show up and I'll be happy with it but right now my opinion of the company is not very high. Ill post again once I either recieve it or get my money back. Just be careful if you decide to buy from them.
Any news?

Still waiting to see if it will show up. Tracking number said it was supposed to be here on their 9th then the 12th then the 19th yesterday and now the 14th today. It also said it was in Carlisle PA earlier this week but now is in Kansas. It’s coming to CT so that makes no sense at all. I’m giving it to the end of next week and then initiating a chargeback. If you are looking for a lift don’t buy from Halo.

Super frustrating😵
Have you investigated a different lift/supplier?
I would have that in my back pocket if the time comes.

My 4 post is an Advantage 9k XLT. When I don’t have a vehicle on the lift for maintenance/repairs, my ‘28 Model A sits on it, with my Miata either underneath or next to it in my workshop area. I bought the XLT so my F250 could go on it or be parked underneath it. I like that I can raise/lower a vehicle I’m working on during the day, then park another vehicle underneath it at night so I don’t leave a vehicle outside.
I understand peoples’ concerns about the 4 posts being “in the way,” but they don’t seem to be in the way at all to me, since they don’t interfere with opening car doors in the lift bay or adjacent bay. My neighbor was anxious to part with the 2 post that came with their house because the posts didn’t leave enough room to get out of her F150 when parked in that bay.
will your Miata and F250 fit on that lift or are the wheel tracks too different?

I am thinking 4 post because I think it will be easier given my shop situation. Slab is 4" - 4.5" with saw cuts right down the middle, 32'w x 28'd x 10't. I don't really want to cut out large sections in order to install a 2 post lift. Current vehicles are CX-30, 91 Miata, 80 F350 DRW. Are there 4 post lifts that would accommodate those rigs? I dont need to stand under, a chair would be fine and better than jacks/stands and crawling. 61 and 5'-9".

Your garage setup and vehicles are somewhat similar to mine, i.e 33 x 28 with 11 foot ceilings. I have a couple of F150s and a 91 Miata.

Everything works fine with my Forward/Rotary EFP9

I have had my 2025 Miata and my neighbors F350 on my BendPak HD9 with the runways in the narrow position.

Lotta Miata guys around here!

Interesting. I just installed a new to me HD9 and I set it to the narrow setting because of all my yard equipment. I was thinking I'd have to adjust it to the wider setting when my son's F150 or my Ram 1500 are on it, but your post gives me hope.

I'd say that the majority of the 9K to 11K rated 4-posts would accommodate those vehicles.
The dually is going to define which 4 post will work.

I ended up with an 11K Advantage because it was one of the few that had adequate drive through width to fit my Super Duty crew cab dually

They both fit. The F250’s tires will overhang the runways about 3/4” of an inch, but that is not a concern. I also lift our John Deere Gator on it, and even my Ferris zero turn, by using some plywood and 2x4 filler pieces, which let me drive on from the side, leaving the front tires on one runway and the rears on the other. I can then slide the filler piece out, leaving me full access to change the blades.

I stand by my comment. The dually is why I left 8K’s off.

Best thing to do is measure your vehicles and pull lift specs. When I shopped for mine, I made a spreadsheet. I’ve posted it on this site a number of times.

Right now you have multiple reasons for a chargeback. If it's delivered and fubared in any way then you will have basically no realistic/reliable service or warranty options from the vendor and will have a difficult time doing a chargeback. I get it .... your holding out hope that you did not make a mistake and it will all turn out ok. Unfortunately it's quite obvious you did and it likely will not. It's better to admit the mistake and get out now. We all make them and there is no shame in trying. You are only making it worse for yourself by holding on to IMHO irrational hope. Good luck.

You should probably start your own thread. Why buy a no-name lift from a company that has not even proof read their website for the lift. Get a decent lift with good support. Bendpak, Backyard Buddy/ Advantage, and Wildfire all fit the bill.

Ended up finally getting a call from the owner of Halo Lifts yesterday. The guy was a rude a hole the entire call. The only thing he offered was to refund 70% of my money since he “shipped” the lift. This is despite me being told that it was in stock and I could go pick it up at their NJ warehouse. There was never any agreement to ship anything and the place they did ship it to was a 7 hour round trip from where I was supposed to pick it up in NJ. I gave up and started the credit card dispute yesterday. For those looking at Halo just know that they also delete any negative comments off their Facebook page and ads. It turns out I am not the only one with issues getting what they ordered after talking to a few other people that tried to order one last year. On to looking for other lifts.

Definitely keep your notes, emails and texts in case CC company needs for evidence for your case.
That's the nice thing about CC purchases you at least have a means to get your money back. 70% is bs. I'm pretty sure that's the cost to send to the warehouse.

I bought from liftswholesale.com and had no problems. You will have to check their website but pretty sure they had a warehouse in NJ. Not sure if all lifts are able to ship there. I would also recommend bestbuyautoequipment.com or redlinestands.com for you to restart your search. They all have 4 posts along with the major brands.
It will get better!!!

Thanks for the recommendation. I smartly kept screenshots of all the communication with the company showing as in stock and pickup in NJ as well as the shipping information showing they decided to ship it to a completely different location. It was all uploaded with the dispute. I’m not sure how I could possibly lose the dispute with what happened and the do vume ration to prove it but will be waiting a few weeks to see how things play out before spending another 5k on another lift. It gives me time to find something else so I’ll check out those sites.

There's also a section in GJ to post product/company reviews. Some are good and some are bad. I haven't noticed any topics on lifts but maybe you can be the 1st!

Final update. The credit card company sided with me on the dispute and I got all my money back. Time to start looking for another lift from a more reputable company. If anyone is reading this and looking for a lift, I highly recommend avoiding Halo.
Closure.

Pain in the *** journey unfortunately.

Wish you the best on your reselect.

Glad you got your money back. What started as a fun and exciting purchase, turned into a nightmare. All the heartache will be worth it though when you finally get a lift. They are absolutely game changers when it comes to working on vehicles.

Glad you got your money back. Have you decided which company to go with. I suggest a known quantity this time with plenty of user reviews/feedback. I have a Backyard Buddy which is owned by Advantage and have had no issues. That said Bendpak, Wildfire, Rotary and Challenger seem to be well liked too. When you narrow it down try calling each companies service department with some questions. I always do that before making large purchases. I like to know how easy it is to get a hold of someone and if the tech is actually knowledgeable or an idiot. This says a lot about a company for sure.

I had a great experience working with Bendpak, PM me for the contact information. My salesman was knowledgeable and helpful, if you use my name I think you get a free Coffee Mug!

Cheers,
