I got bored this evening. So I went out and started fidding with my Craftsman ratchets. I fixed the 3/8" drive, i put 3 little sheetmetal shims under the spring. it doesnt skip and all that garbage now. Then i filled the ratchets with Fluid Film oil(pretty slick stuff, my dad uses it on alot of stuff.) on the gears. WOW they smoothed out. they ratchet really well now.
I also compaired the inards between all my dads and my Craftsman ratchets. The design sure has changed. He has a full set of V's, and a VV 3/8 and a Vf? 3/8. I have a K2w 3/8 and 1/4", and a tsomethingsomething 1/2".
Who else has had a simple tune and oil job work mericles on these and similer ratchets?
