Wrench Extenders….Anyone use one?

Saw this the other day, thought it looked cool, so I bought it.

Haven’t used it yet.

Thoughts?

Useful? A waste?

Looks just like the Cornwell version with a different handle. Pretty sure VIM supplies Cornwell with this part.

For me, it's sometimes very handy. It can be fiddly and annoying, but worth it in the right spot.

I've seen them but could never justify buying one. I just use another wrench or a hammer.

I have one made my Muller-Krups and I'm sure it works. I've just never used it having 1500 ft-lb. impact wrenches readily available.

There are places that that big impact won't go. I've used my Muller-Krups twice in the last week, once on exhaust bolts and once on a transfer case shifter cam plate.

I have one that looks similar. It has come in handy many times and works great. I had another that was a little different style and made of cast metal. It broke the first time I used it.

I bought the cheapest one I could find. Works fine. No precision in this tool. I think they can be found for $15.

Show us your wrench extender!

I had always thought these were a waste of money but since I’ve been working on trucks and having to deal with a lot of stubborn square drain/fill plugs, I’ve found mine to be indispensable. This is a crude, inexpensive wrench extender I got for $11.99 but damn If it doesn’t get the job done...

I use mine all the time. Makes it safer to crank down on a wrench when you’re pulling in an awkward position. It’s a lot easier on the wrenches than doubling them up, too.

I have one without the comfort grip, it makes it easier to fit a cheater bar on. Great for suspension work. If you've ever questioned the quality of your wrenches then this is a good way to test them out.

Does slipping a pipe over the wrench count? I have slipped a CPVC pipe or a piece of EMT over the end of a lot of wrenches.

Was wondering how they compare to the good ole cheater pipe tho that does require a single ended spanner

I use them on alignments quite a lot. Very handy.

I rarely need one, but I needed one multiple times in a short period of time so I bought the mueller - kueps 745 100 (standard size).

They also make a mini, medium, and large.

Have not needed it since I bought it; figures, right.

I do that too. Sometimes the deadblow is the ticket, but sometimes there isn't access for said deadblow. Then it's time for the extender.

Btw, most of my family lives around the corner from you in Canandaigua.
