Good afternoon,

I rediscovered this, in my toolbox, and it was probably my Dad's. It's a
WRENCHKING 3/4 combination wrench, and it's made in the USA (with patents pending). It has setscrew in the open end part, and it holds in the spring-loaded feature. What is the purpose, of this?

I’d assume it’s supposed to skip then catch like a ratchet on the open end when you turn it.

Gearwrench also make one similar.

I think it will hold a nut or hold the wrench on a bolt or nut unless the opening is larger than 3/4 it can not act like a ratchet as listed above
