I want to make a tool bag to put in my vehicle. I like the fact that Wright tools are US made and have a decent price. I was wandering how they are quality wise. I was also looking for a good place to buy them. Royal supply seems to have good prices. I was also thinking about using Proto for my bag. Thanks in advance.

Very high quality tools. I bought mine from eBay and from Toolup (Toolup.com).

I just now priced up the following basic metric set
Wright Tool 11-08MM
Wright Tool 11-10MM
Wright Tool 11-12MM
Wright Tool 11-13MM
Wright Tool 11-14MM
Wright Tool 11-15MM
Wright Tool 11-17MM
Wright Tool 11-19MM

This is just $72.62 plus shipping (about $15). No reason the average joe can't afford a quality set of combo wrenches.

Although the photos indicate otherwise, you will receive wrenches with the WrightGrip feature (the photos are just old).

The newer Wright wrenches, chrome sockets and ratchets I have are the nicest tools I own. The impact sockets are nice too. And even the older stuff I have scored off Ebay are great quality.

That is true, would kill for some long pattern wrightgrip!

Yeah, me too. What happened to the guy from Wright that was on here? It can't be that hard to engineer a little extra length on a combo wrench!

I have 2 sets of Wright Combo wrenches that I bought new in the middle 1970s, as well as a 1/2 drive socket set from the middle 1970s. All have been worked hard, and never a failure. I have since bought more on the secondary market, never been disappointed

+1 on buying from Harry Epstein, Great folks to deal with

It was toolup that last year sent me a non-wrightgrip 5/8 so it isn't 100% true.

You won't go wrong with Wright and I really like their contour grip ratchets and breakers.
I've mostly bought mine at a local dealer who's prices were cheaper then anything online and they keep most things in stock. Only exception was the metric socket set, for some reason they were fairly pricey on the set and they don't stock sets to start with so I did buy that online.
Toolup can have decent prices but their prices can be all over the place with different shipping amounts depending on if it is their website, ebay or amazon.
ropesoapndope.com has decent prices on some and epsteins has a good selection.

Very high quality tools at half SO price. I particular like their WrightGrip wrench. They need to make a long pattern set though.

Great wrenches, unfortunate that they refuse to make a long pattern version though. Regardless that seems to be the part of their product line that really stands out. Even my local dealer has probably 75% combination wrenches / 25% 1/4" thru 3/4" drive sockets ratchets and accessories. Seems to tell a story.

Wright is what SK should have become before they bankrupted 5 times. Excellent tools and support and very consistent.
If someone here started a poll about this infatuation of longer wrenches and emailed the thread to them, I'm sure they would respond.
My longest wrenches are Toptul combo and DBE. I never even reach for them. Usually I grab the soexm 'short"(not stubby) Snappy Flank drive plus----after breaking them loose with Proto ASD.
I like short ratchets and wrenches when its all needed. Mechanican' with long tools ***** in todays little Gocars.I want my hand right at the fastener since half the time you cant even see the damn thing.....and they make the bolt 3 inches long.
Equipment work is a whole different game.I'd sign the poll for a Wright grip XXL

I have a full set of them that don't get a ton of use anymore, but they're good wrenches. A little hard to find at times, but no complaints with the tools themselves.
