I just bought a brand new set of Wright satin SAE wrenches 3/8" - 1" (set 711) on ebay. Asking price is $95 (I offered $85 and it was accepted) which in my opinion is a very good deal. There are 5 more sets available as well as some larger sized individual wrenches.

I am a little suspicious that this guy has all this Wright stuff new and only has never sold anything before? His 9 feedback are as a buyer... I hope he actually ships your item Tuc04, but when you buy with Paypal I feel like it's pretty safe to take a chance like this.

If a guy is patient you can get barely used sets for around $50 from time to time. I upgraded all my personal wrenches to Wright doing that off ebay.

I don't see WrightGrip on the packaging, are these older wrenches?

The tool wrap says Set 711 which is the Wright Grip set, and the wrenches themselves say Wrightgrip on them. I think Wright is just a bit wonky with their packaging. I have a hard time telling which are the Wrightgrips on HJE as well.

I have a tracking number so as soon as I get them I will report.

This set is going to be for my son so I wanted brand new and I've been watching around for quite some time. I've never seen them anywhere for under $100.

Does it list a shipping weight anywhere on the tracking? Should be more than 0.1lb...

That'd be quite a lot of crumpled yellow paper. Seems like it might be legit. Sadly he has not accepted my lowball offer yet.

You just asked the weight. Ask what size the box is. It might be 4'x4'x4' stuffed with compacted crumpled yellow paper.

lol now I gotta go back and look at the post with the pictures of the yellow paper. got a good laugh

Edit: here it is http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=294389&page=43

Edit 2: ***** what happened to the members who ordered the welder, but those pics of the paper and the solar toy and the battleship game were hillarious

He still hasn't accepted or denied my lowball offer... Seems strange. Also Tuc04 any update yet? How close is it? This is pretty exciting wondering if it's gonna be wrenches or paper or fishing weights or what have you.

UPS is scheduled to deliver on Friday. It was shipped from a UPS store in Stafford, TX which is a suburb of Houston as his ebay account indicates.

After reading the welding thread I am a little concerned, but I remain cautiously optimistic.

I will take pictures and post an update when I get the package.

I wouldn't be as worried.

1.) this isn't a 700$ welder
2.) wright is not as well known as snap on, mac, Craftsman, sk
3.) these are SAE, they doen't hold there value like metric. Went through this selling CM USA made tools.
4.) Maybe he did really find a deal on these.. Look at the clowns in the home depot thread buying **** for cheap and selling on ebay. Are they sketchy people too then?

Thinking about buying these to see what the fuss is about, but already have snap on and CM

i made some reasonable offers on other items he had, like 10 bucks instead of 12 on an adjustable wrench and he denied them all.

The came today and everything was legit. The paper tags were a little crumpled (as you can see in the pic) but the wrenches were perfect. All new and all Wrightgrip.

As an added bonus there was a 5/16" wrench included which is not part of the normal 711 set.

I hope others were able to get a set before they sold out. I'd be curious to hear the lowest accepted price.

It seemed to me like someone bought them in bulk. I was watching that sale and then suddenly they were all gone. I checked and there were 4 left and then like a half hour later or so I got a "Just missed it!" message from Ebay. I wish I had gotten in on that. If only your wrenches had arrived a day earlier! ;)

If you click on the "5 sold" link on the page, you can see some detsils on what offers were accepted. The seller accepted multiple offers at once, but only one buyer bought more than one (they bought 2).

I made offers of $80. The first expired, the second was denied. I'm curious to know what offers he accepted. I didn't need the set, but would have liked it for $80!

Now that you guys have had your Wright 711's for a few days what do you think of them? I'm really hoping that guy will show back up with more sets at that price.
