Hello Garage Journal, I'm a long time lurker but this is my first post.
I am looking to buy at least 2 bench vises with jaws 2.5" or narrower, not a hobbyist vise, but a scaled down version of a full size vise. I know that at minimum Reed, Parker, Prentiss, and Athol made vises that fit the bill but I'm sure others did as well. I don't want a clamp-on model, anything with an exposed screw, or anything with a lift-up style quick release like the clamp-on Athols had. I would, however, consider non clamp Stanleys. Swivel jaws or bases ok, but a fixed base is preferable. I'm willing to pay a fair price, but not anything like the collector's premium that baby Wiltons go for
These vises, like all my tools, will be for use and therefore cosmetic condition is unimportant as long as they are mechanically sound.
Please PM me a description/photo and asking price as I would prefer to dodge any "me-toos" until I've at least had a chance to consider the offer.
