This is a 2 ft driver that I would like to put to use some day. I found it in a old carpenters box from the 1950s. He even has his social security number marked on the outside of the box. Sold it years ago. But I think This driver just fell and broke. Is there a way to bond it back together? Thank you. Thank you very much.

I don't think there's any solution that will make it whole again AND make it look pretty. Try brushing some acetone on the broken areas and see if you can't do a solvent weld.

Thanks. That is what I will do. I guess it is more important to have it working than what it looks like.

I'm thinking the plastic will break somewhere else. Making a new handle seems to be the best course of action.

Never tried this on that material, but if you want to add some rigidity, maybe try to drill a pin into each part where it's broken to hold it together when you fasten it? If you do this ,you might have best luck sanding both pieces flat to get it centered. Not sure if it's worth that much hassle to you, but might be best way to make it strong again

I may try to drill and tap from the end and then with some epoxy. Thanks.

Do you have a lathe? I would face both ends and drill n tap, screw it together with some adhesive.. make sure the handle is clocked correctly. Shorter, but good.

I'd try Plastic Welder. All of the plastics I've tried it on worked. I'd be interested to see if it adheres to screwdriver handle plastic.

Though be warned - it stinks to high heaven!

No. Don't have a lathe but buddies do. But I have been looking for ideas like the Plastic weld also. The handle is way to long to start with. I believe that is the reason it broke. Too much leverage on the end. Thanks men
