XXL Wrenches

Hey guys, cant justify spending 150+ on XXL wrenches, who else makes them besides SK?

Gearwrench, Armstrong, Napa Carlyle, Gearwrench is probably your cheapest. The others are in the 150 rang and 130 rang. Others will chime in with more options.

The ones at harbor freight only cost $25 for a set of 11. SAE or Metric.

the two are different. XXl is extra extra long. not of large fastener size...

What type of wrenches and what sizes are you looking for?

"XXL" is pretty vague and doesn't really tell me anything.

I have the hf xl pattern wrenches. I bent one removing a drag link from a jeep wrangler. In all fairness though I had my feet on the axle while pulling for maximum leverage on a super stubborn fastener. I ended up buying a set of armstrong xl pattern.

For the money, I have no real complaints with the hf set

the harbor freight wrenches are just slightly longer than your average wrench. i wouldnt call them extra long.

the GW gearbox wrenches are what i would call XL or XXL wrenches.

Why does everybody always recommend Harbor Freight? Are we always assuming the OP is dirt poor and on a strict budget? Go ahead and recommend Snap-on, it's alright, you know you want to anyway. And besides, it's not your money, so don't worry about it. Let the OP worry about how to pay for it.

The OP clearly stated 150+ dollar expense couldn't be justified.

Snap on is not my first choice most of the time as well as many others. If you want the OP to have snap on you should buy it for him

The long pattern wrenches from Harbor Freight are garbage. I had a set a few years back. The 10mm spread wide open on the open end and I bent a couple of the others.

They are pure ****; don't waste your time. My set ended up in the scrap metal bin.
