so you gonna line up all your vechile and get a Pic of them all?

real question will be how many would have to be towed into the spot for the picture?
:lol_hitti With the latest aquisitions, I think the number of motorized conveyiences that need work is two motorcycles, two tractors, 3 trucks, and 2 cars. That does not include a parts bulldozer I need to strip, and the '56 Caddy that I need to yank the dash out of. And the Sonic and pick up do run reliably, but have significant issues.

You have almost as many trailers as you do 4 wheelers.
there's like 9 trailers so I have more trailers than ATV's

Heck Ill due a quick rundown just to make sure.
1.Wheel barrow Trailer Used mostly with the Honda 125 for youngest kid. Free from My Dad
2.Small Yard trailer for Garden Tractor Used with small ATV's Free has 1 tire goes flat after 1 week.
3.Orange Trailer Used with kids ATV and Hauls the Maple sap have 5gal bucket frame made so buckets dont slide around n spring as it tracks behind ATV tires so not alot of drag. Cost $100 I think or $200
4.Wood Trailer center balanced axle which is nice can load with wood and still able to hook up to ATV when loaded. Free from a friend
5. Wood trailer with spring axle. Biggest wood hauling trailer I have with spring axle that I have a bench made for kid hauler as well. Free 1/2 mile down the road from my house 15 years ago
6.Single Place ATV trailer tilt deck 4x8 has hauled alot of ATV's for me over the years, My Brother bought it new when he got his 2002 Honda Foreman 450 Have has this one the longest.
7. Snowmobile trailer 2 place I got this when I went up to 2 atvs' and need to haul both from the in house town out to the woodland. I think I traded a computer for it.
8. Trailer for lumber hauling just a frame with long tongue and a axle pretty much.
9. Log cart axle and tilt deck as a log arch for if I get into the needing to haul trees to the sawmill for cutting still need to get sawmill set up.
10. theres a trailer 5x9 I think under the pine trees that I made a cover for and has a bunch of the wifes' outside decor stuff in it that came out of the outhouse shed that got taken over to be the chicken feed storge shed.

There that is the trailer count that ATV's use.

there is also the car trailer but I don't know if that counts but the ATV's have moved that around the yard when needed

I should go and take pictures of all of these so I would know what I all have.

Hopefully you have a spreadsheet for all your equipment. And each piece has a maintenance tracking number.

Will that last for the entire winter season?
The trailers don't take much maintance. Just fix stuff when it breaks more or less the 3 wood trailers all get a roof over them the snowmobile trailer is on its 2nd deck the metal trailers live outside. Mostly flat tires is biggest problem

Wood shed should last threw the winter. I have backup pile under pine trees that when shed is half empty and I have nice weekend weather I'll move pine tree pile to wood shed and refill and burn that as it is staring to turn punky in the pile I have a few live trees that need to come down and they will go into the backup pile spot to season or dry till ready and be the emergency wood. If needed.

Yeah, bagging deer around is big industry. Sitting here eating dinner, it's pretty dark outside, and I hear gun shots going off all around me. I can barely make out the shop from here, it's bright blue, and less than 80' from the house. You just can't fix stupid.

Aren't you worried about the weather getting to the ladder? I hang mine from the ceiling using some pulleys
A little bit but I have 2 of these the other one is in better shape and is stored inside the yard shed this is better than it just being leaned up against the side of the garage. As it had been for the last year

Was windy and cold this weekend so it was Inside work time.

Worked on the 3 point setup for the 140 I have 1 of the lower arms has a bend it not suppose to have. Took 3 point off and fabbed up some parts to make it stronger. Its all at my uncles Shop where he has a press and welder to get it back to where needs to be.

Made some Metal parts to get welded onto the arms to held brace them up better.3 point bent.jpg

Since I have the 3 point off I reworked some Tire Chains and got them setup on the 140. I had 1 of the Nice V bar chain and 1 sets of the regular 4 link so took the V-Bar set apart and added them to the regular 4 link set so now I have a 2link pair of chains that go V-bar cross link every other cross bar for the most part I was 2 links short of the V-bars so I just subbed in a regular cross bar every 3rd bar.

Can't wait for some snow now so that I can take the 140 out and see what all it can get threw.

So on Sunday had some nicer weather and I went down and worked on cutting up some firewood.

I have a firewood cutting deck that I drive up onto with the ATV and then block cut up the wood once on the deck.

The deck will eventually fill up will bark and sawdust and such. so I pulled it out of the way back before the ground was frozen bladed off the area to get rid of the bark/sawdust/junk. Put the deck back in its spot but then got the idea to set it up a bit higher as to it will take longer to fill up. I thought I'd have to extend the ramp out another section to make the approach ramp more managable. Did that and now my approach is kinda of slippery to get up onto the deck. I like the deck at this height as cutting is alot better.

Thinking I need to length the approach ramp another 12" section then I have a old truck tire thread that I'm gonna screw down onto where the ATV tires track and see if I get better traction that way.

Will you be able to hit the tread every time? I would think some expanded metal would be a better solution, but that would probably cost money. What if you put the tread sideways instead of length wise

should be able to, the Tread section I have is 60" long so I'm thinking cut it into 2 30" section lay them where the ATV tires are going to be on the ramp screw them down good and give it a try and see what happens. I have more sections of the ramp I can make it longer so the angle is not as steep as well. Its a on going process on this firewood cutting deck. Just trying to refine it and make it better.

I need the ramp to be a smooth flat surface so that the leading edge of the wood can slide along it when it is being pulled along if the ramp was expanded metal either the pulling log could dig into it or the chain wraped around the log could catch as well. If I have kids/wife help they are just flat dragging the logs behind there ATVs up onto the deck. I only have the 1 logging arch and yes they could unhook there logs and I can just pull them up with the arch but that takes time to rehook every log at the landing then. When it has been a family wood cutting day I'll have 5 atvs down there and lined up with logs behind them ready to pull up onto the deck for cutting. Cut a log up clear the deck drive the next ATV up with log repeat. When your ATV is unhooked from the log you go find another one. cept my logging one gets stolen by a kid to go and find more wood and I just seem to be cutting all day. But its making wood which is the name of the game.

I just need to think about if I want to add more sections to the ramp to make it less steep or due I put on the rubber strips to give me better traction trying to get up on the ramp? I have the sections yet where I could add 3 more sections to the ramp? that would be easy enough to due.

Expanded metal, or even just nailing down some small wood strips like tread bars is what I would do. Leave the center open for the log to slide up.
Visual for wood strips:
l- -l (l =edge of ramp)
l- -l (- = tread bar)
l- -l

XJ that is on the try list as well I'll have to look threw my scrap supply pile and see what I have to cut up and give it a try.

How far apart would you put the strips ever 6" or so and then the other side is off set by 3" so the idea being you alway's have a tire on the ladder or space them at 4" with a 2" offset?

still thinking make the ramp not as steep as even the ATV by itself with snow on the ramp it spun out trying to go up it. So I'm thinking I need to make the ramp less steep as some of my ATV are only 2wd and will need to also be able to climb this.

heck now that I'm thinking about this I have a bunch of Metal shingle scrap's I can put down where the tires are going to be wont have to be fancy or nothing but those should work out great for this. That is till I spin off all the grit on those but then there will still be bumps and ridges for the tires to grip.

VEry pretty pics, but you used "nice" and the "S" word in the same sentence. That's not allowed until Strouty and I are ready for the cold dandruff.
If Mother Nature waited for you guys to be ready before winter it would be summer again before you was ready and maybe even past the 4th of July! LOL:lol_hitti
