I love the old stock car shots too. There was a Hudson Hornet stock car at rte. 66 last year and i just thought " if this car could talk...."

Small update as I have been working in the house mainly.

I was offered a free set of oak stairs... turned out they were exactly the height I needed.
After some thinking about how to position them.. I got them up.

Tried to use rough cut lumper for the posts... the main support post is actually what was once the electrical pole for the building before it was added on to.

I am trying to come up with a plan for a handrail that looks old.. but has the landing's rail removable to be able to lift larger items onto with a block and tackle.

the upstairs of the building will become an office eventually so having a nice set of stairs will be great compared to the rickety metal warehouse roll-around stairs I had before.

Sick place. It sure looks daunting but remember that you have a better starting point than probably 80% of us on this board. Not to mention, as has been said before about the old buildings, you get invaluable character in places like yours. I'm fairly new to the board and I just finished reading rieferman's barn-saving thread the other day, which has similar character. I'm really loving these old places, and the old metal that's filling yours makes it that much more fascinating. Fantastic space, and cars!
