I haven't bought it just yet...the sale ends at midnight EST?

Maybe I can buy this now instead of an engine for my project and just focus on bodywork for a while.

Midnight central I believe.

Thanks Zoro! Not as much as the first year, where I bought a plasma cutter, generator, TIG welder, and a bunch of other stuff, but not too bad.

I've got it in my cart...they are not showing any tax on my order...this is a game of brinkmanship I am playing, but the reviews of this machine on Amazon really make it sound like it makes it easy to learn how to weld. Very tempting.

Bull,

Get the 211!

I have one and I use it on both 120 and 240v and have noticed no difference when welding 1/8" steel. For 240 I actually unplug my air compressor which is a 30 amp circuit.

Mig welding with the 211 is like having a hot glue gun for steel.

Progressing through the process...pulse quickening. Once I signed in, they did ad $80 in tax, which stinks. Still a very good price for this thing at $966? That's a lot of coin for Bully-boy!

I await your validating words....

Unless you were planning on it save your cash and research some more. You need a welding cart and a good local shop for bottles/gas. Clean welds for body work take practice.

Zoro runs these 30% off sales practically every 60 days. Wouldn't surprise me if they do another for new years. Point is, if its an impulse buy, just let it go for now. There will be another sale around the corner.

I do have a good local shop for gas, as I discovered recently. Not sure what that costs.

One Amazon reviewer mentioned placing his 211 on the cart from HF.

I do expect to have to practice, that's for sure. Just wanting to stack the odds in my favor.

A welding cart is a good first project to learn with. Build one.

$966 is a decent deal. I paid that for my 180 back before the auto-set days.

Picked up a machine table, better than what I can weld and probably the same price. The 30% off helped, especially when picking up a Syncrowave 210 last month. My budget for tools has been exceeded this year, for sure.

I picked up the Durham machine table as well, thanks to joshuakline pointing it out:
Machine Table,36x72x34,14000 lb. Zoro Item: G6164225
http://www.zoro.com/i/G6164225/

$429 out the door, excellent bench for my 2nd barn

And my budget for tools is also 'about' shot for 2014 & 2015.

I got in on a 211 as well as the cover and some consumables.

For those that purchased a miller product don't forget about the rebate program which should bring it down another $100.

Hope they do another sale soon, It was most appreciated!!

I finally made the decision to buy right before midnight. Zoro's site went glitchy on me, so I guess I'm waiting for the next sale. Whoops! :)

Sigh…this holiday I prioritized buying motorcycle protection gear, like burly dirt-bike boots and armored top/bottoms. Sorta like buying toothpaste, it's good for you, but not real fun to purchase.:(

Didn't stop me from drooling at welders, welding tables, drills, etc.

I recommend AGAINST the Miller cart. The Miller cart has the welder at an odd angle which wastes the space under the unit and the power switch is shrouded and hidden in the back by the bottle.

Building your own cart is probably a great first project.

Well Bull did you pull the trigger and join the Miller club? That is why I bought mine is to do bodywork on my 70-73 Trans-Am that I have not bought yet! :lol_hitti

I have a Miller Dynasty 200 that I love, you can not go wrong with a Miller.

I hemmed and hawed and when I finally went to the checkout, the price in my cart changed to full price. Clearly I waited too long.

But now I know what the next purchase is. All the reviews I can find for that Miller are glowing!

I hope Zoro does another 30% sale before too long. I'll be ready.

I think you will be happy. I got my 211 at my LWS - thinking I would build a rapport with them in case I need service some day. Not my worst idea, not my best.

I will say that you should build your own cart. Buying one robs you of experience that you need to complete your first few "real" projects. Miller (and others) have a lot of good videos online these days. You can start watching them now - to get ready.

Miller is also running $100 MIR on qualifying welders (211 is included) and $70 MIR on Digital Elite helmets and $40 MIR on Digital Performance helmets for those looking to get into welding. Something to keep in mind when making a decision.

The HF cart with the drawers is pretty nice. It's fun to build your own, but those drawers are really nice for consumables.

Of course my 252 is it's own cart.

What does Zoro use primarily for their shipping courier? In the past my orders always came by UPS. This time the tracking number I received is an 11 digit number starting with a 5. I can't find any tracking info for it.

Everything I've ordered has come by Dynamex. I've never found a way to track them. I think warehouse location has a lot to do with who they use.

Thanks, never heard of Speedee, tried them, nada.

I've tried Fedex, GSO, DHL, even tried UPS & Ontrac. I'm not to worried about it but it would be nice to know when it's going to show up.

My order contains an arbor press stand. I doubt it would come by freight, it shouldn't be that heavy, & they shouldn't come assembled.

I've had my Proto toolboxes from them come via USF Reddaway. (I'm out west) USF has a few different regional companies depending on the part of the country.

I don't think it'll be trackable. They ship from local DCs and stores and use local common carriers for a lot of stuff.

I have one similar to this and I agree it's a great design. It's nice to keep everything in one place. The only thing it needs are a couple more hangers.

Yeah. I fondled one in the store and the drawers are nice ball bearing slides and it's well-built.
