The drill press arrived today, the shippers tipped it over at some point and smashed it. It wasn't just this corner, the entire head was tweaked. Not only that, Zoro sent the wrong model drill press. FML. Now they are out of stock on the model I want and it is not even on the web site any longer.

Anyone else notice something odd on their orders? I'm holding back on saying more until it ships.....

Well I got tracking numbers. They didn't charge sales tax and they always have in the past. Pretty nice considering that was another 9% on a pretty large order....

Sorry for the drama but I didn't want to jinx it.

look at the pdf receipt from "Zoro: Cash/CC Sales Receipt #..." . the web order history shows a subtotal with the tax builtin, in my case.

Wasn't the drill press drop-shipped from Jet? I thought that was the SOP for Jet in general.

Hey TC: One thing I just learned on the Echo chainsaws (maybe trimmers - not sure): As I've used my cs-590 maybe 25 hours now heavy use milling, I took off the air filter. Nice dirt trail inside bypassing the filter completely! There is a leak path right at the tube/pipe going into the carb at the throttle. Very important: Add either some grease or 100% silicone caulk bead all around that tube OD before putting the air filter back on. I also cleaned out my filter with just compressed air. Fixed my broken handle with a metal splint and some bolts, started it up again, man ran as good as new or BETTER than new as these would run a little lean unless you correct that air path leak, and I did not till now (I run 40:1 though instead of 50:1 so that probably made up for it mostly). Never ever run them lean. So everybody who has Echo check yours and see if any dirt is getting around the filters and fix. I love my Echo otherwise! I wish Echo would make a good 80cc just like the 590 60 cc one though! - Paul

One more request too for this thread: When there is a new 30% deal out there, please post a new thread with something like ZORO FLASH SALE OR TODAY ONLY SALE 30%!!! so it catches everybody's attention. I love these deals but they are few and far between so need to get them when they happen. Thanks all for the super great thread! - Paul

As was said before, this was not a flash sale, it was a targeted email campaign not everyone got codes.

Just subscribe to this thread and check it often, people are always tossing up discount codes.

Unless there's another freight shipper for your area, you'll have the same problem no matter where you shop. Buy an old USA press on CL ;)

If anything that JET was likely aligned by being dropped hard. I'd refuse it based on freight damage and count your blessings, you dodged a bullet. (I realize YOU didn't order it, rocket1420, merely speaking figuratively). Just keep searching CL for a Powermatic, Dake etc

That Echo CS-590 is a beast. Mine is doing great milling some Walnut wood recently, but I did have a tree bury it for a few hours. Broke my handle! But it started right up again and ran fine afterwards.

I need to see what I can get from Zoro today that I can use. I really just hate their website. Hard to find anything at all ! - Paul

Strouty, I know, I am not distinguishing between a FLASH sale or any other sale title. I'm talking abou the 30%. I'm on the email list, so I benefited from it just like others, but I'm lucky I read this thread that day, as no other indication of any special sale. If you do not want to help others to join in the deal, that is your decision and choice in life I suppose. I like to help others, and letting them know about it is a good thing I think. - Paul

Thanks to the guys that offered up their unused codes! I've got 3 different accounts with numerous purchases on all of them and email notifications set up, but did not receive a single code. Thanks to some nice GJ members, I got an order in!

Why would having multiple threads be better? People can subscribe to this one and get notifications if they feel the need.

As for not helping out others, I have posted up codes that I am not using, how is that not helping?

Honestly, its a pain to get emails all the time, I feel a thread is way better, I check the hot deals once a day, many days I never look at my personal email. Just my work email is plenty for me.

I received the 30% email, and missed it. I've been on the road 15 of the last 17 days and didn't check my personal email that day.

D@#&!!!!!!!!!! Needed a new set of jaws for my Wilton Tradesman.

It is better because it is easier to read the list of new posts in the hot deal forum and see one titled 30% zoro or whatever. Instead of having to click on this thread every time there is a post and digging through it to see if there is a sale.

I will let you guys start the other threads, I prefer it all in one.

After a while those 30% off thread titles will get annoying because the day after the sale when they get bumped people will get a huge let down.

Happiness: called them up, extremely friendly, placed order for a couple of machine lights, a bunch of SK bit sockets, and some 3m bristle discs.

AFAICT Zoro is targeting all their emails a bit more closely these days. No more codes that can be reused by different people.

I wonder how they determine who gets one as I opened my account within the last couple months and have made one purchase for some bushings that were under $15 shipped... and I received the recent 30% off

My guess is that after you start spending money regularly they cut back on the codes. The one I got went to my work email, which has only placed one order, while my home email didn't get one, and I've made well over $5,000 in purchases on that account.

If someone is posting a One-Day Deal in a new thread, then it would be a good idea to put "Today Only" in the title of the thread. Problem solved.

I picked this up. Been waiting for a deal and 30% off saved me $100.

I gave away my code to a GJ member that was asking for one and don't regret it but, I am curious if I screwed myself to receive any future offers because each code was individualized and they can easily tell I gave mine up.

I am on board, I am going to start a new thread as soon as I see the Discount!

Make sure the title say "30% off zoro.com today only Saturday August 15th, 2015". Otherwise it will just be a confusing mess, then ask the mods to delete it afterwards.

I've had a number of things delivered by freight from Zoro without any issues. Mine all arrived via Oak Harbor Freight.

I have something coming Pitt Ohio Express LTL. Not sure how they're handling it...I've gotten zero contact from them.

Just unloaded my shipment, a couple small scratches on one of the Knaack boxes, started shuffling the smaller boxes (they shipped 5 boxes with pliers and pipe wrenches in them through freight?). I realized that my 72" blow gun got bent. It was not obvious when I first looked at it, but it is definitely bent. So they only messed up one thing. My guess is zoro will send another and tell me to dispose of this one, but who knows. Overall everything looks good and I am happy. Heck the blow gun is useable, to get around corners, maybe it is a special model?

I jinxed myself. They had my AC unit on top of one of the gang boxes so I just looked in around the cardboard and saw no issues. Once the cardboard was off, well it was obvious somebody had played bumper cars with it. I couldn't even open it without persuasion. Calling zoro now, at least they have good customer service, or did I just jinx myself again?

At least that part went well. The only thing that stinks is they need to have the the jobsite box in transit before they can ship a new one to me, hopefully dealing with UPS freight won't be a real hassle for pickup. The did tell me to discard the blow gun and they are sending a new one. I guess it costs too much to ship back and handle it.

Bummer. My guess is that it's effectively free to add some boxes once they have a freight shipment, so they just send it all together.

When I bought a big slat wall and a bunch of Akro-bins, they all came freight even though the boxes of bins were comparatively small and extremely light.

It is just for air, maybe I should have said air gun? I bought it to be able to clean hard to reach stuff, it looks like it will be a compressor hog. I should have just canceled the order, but I figured I could remove the tip on the damaged one and shorten it so I have two sizes. UPS freight is supposed to come tonight to pick up the damaged box, next shipment if there is any sign of anything, I am making them wait until I unbox it. I try and be the nice guy and it ends up costing me more effort. Go figure.
