Hmm 25% off isn't bad, but I think I'm going to wait for a 30% off... save me an extra $40 on stuff I don't need too badly

Zoro is unmatched in its delivery. I have amazon prime and order a lot of stuff, and zoro beats that in delivery time & quality. Using coupons on Zoro I get the lowest price possible, everything I've bought to date.

But back to the delivery, I don't know how they do it,, but I literally get the stuff the next day. Packaged to perfection.

That alone will keep me buying from them.

When I have ordered from Zoro, the Grainger Courier dropped them off. It was always the next day too! Idk about others but that's how it was for me.

I needed 4" Tapcons for a project this weekend and kind of forgot about it. I ordered Wed night 2/11 and they're not going to be delivered until Monday 2/16. I don't blame Zoro, I blame myself but it's really a show stopper.

You ordered Wednesday night. That means you needed next day delivery, for Friday, since they would be shipped Thursday.

This is a situation where I personally would have visited a hardware store.

COMEBACK25 is dead.

The PRESENT1 and 2 are always active, you can only ever use it once per account though.

Was "comeback25" a one day only deal? I assume it was only sent out to inactive accounts.

Not everything unfortunately.

Some people have claimed they've been able to call in and get stuff ordered, but I have yet to see any evidence.

From what our Grainger rep told me, Zoro carries 800000 of Graingers most popular items.
The reps hate Zoro, as they now need to compete with their own company.

Nope.

Grainger carried two metal lengths, lets say one 6' and one 12'. Zoro only has the 6'. (They have 12' in other profiles, so it's not the length.) I emailed and they told me to buy from Grainger for nearly 2X the list price.

So it all depends. It ***** as I need a bunch of stuff and it would have been great to get it all from Zoro and getting it fast, but I can save about 40% off my total ordering it from separate places.

My Miller Syncrowave from Zoro had a Grainger sticker on the box when it arrived.

Yup, we've received Grainger stickers on Zoro orders as well. A little tip, if you want to see if a Grainger item is on Zoro, type in the Grainger part number on Zoro.

They need to finally compete with someone. For as long as I can remember the only thing grainger has competed with was seeing how high their cost could be!

Grainger has the largest retail footprint of any of the industrial suppliers (MSC, Fastenal, McMaster, Enco, etc), when you need stuff same day, they're the only game in town. If you're lucky enough to work near a McMaster warehouse, they do will call.

The prices also come down once you open an account with them and push some volume through it, they are afterall, an industrial supplier, not a hobby shop.

Their prices are more justified than Enco/MSC IMHO, at least they have a large retail network.

Yeah. We've had an account for 9 years and run a couple hundred grand through it a year and still don't get very good pricing. They're starting to close locations around here and keeping less and less on hand, which at least in my recent experiance totally eliminates that same day in town idea. For example last week I needed two ten foot pieces of unistrut. They had one, couldn't get the other for two days, wound up getting it from a local shop, for less, which is where I should have gone to begin with. Or mcmaster which is normally next day from Chicago in the STL area.

Same deal for electrical parts, normally if I need something they've got to order it in, I can get the same stuff shipped in quicker than granger and cheaper from Galco or PLCCenter (and Galco sends candy in the boxes!)

When you go in a grainger here it's normally empty of both staff and customers, they really seem to be hurting as a company. Maybe it's just my local area of operation tho.

Tl;Dr Graingers annoying but I still order from 'em.

Agreed. I got hired on last summer at my current employer just as they were putting the final touches on the brand new building. Needless to say we spent over a million dollars with Grainger last summer alone setting up the place. The prices did come down A LOT but it did require quite a bit of leg work on our end to get them to quote EVERYTHING. It was a huge hastle. We still go through them but only if we need it now, and have shifted most of our business to Fastenal, McMaster, and Global because we don't have to hastle with quoting everything, and so I don't have to feel like I just got robbed every time I open the Grainger catalog.

Isn't Fastenal really expensive too?

I know the price differences between items when I'm just browsing the website and when I'm logged into my account is crazy.

I don't know how my boss setup our account with them so I'm not positive on how you get the discounts setup. Probably a combination of them having a keep stock account and the amount we purchase through them.

I'm sure Jo Blo off the street can't get my prices.

Shout out to Zoro....I ordered a set of Duratek screwdrivers on 2/19...regular shipping no expedited services....they were at my house on 2/20. I ordered a different set of screwdrivers from Tools Delivered and I received my order shipped noticed this morning....both items were in stocks.

Bravo Zoro.

Fastenal has WIDE latitude on their prices but you really have to "be somebody." My local store wanted me to open an account but then told me their "core customer" spends at least $250/mo with them. I'm not saying you get considerable discounts at that level as I know $250/mo really isn't THAT much........but I just laughed.......no way I'd spend $250/mo with them unless they dropped their prices 40-50% across the board for me. Otherwise I can keep ordering from Enco, MSC, EBay, Zoro etc for less.
