Just got an email - Sale extended to 4pm Central time.

Regarding the Miller $400 accessory rebate - I just got off the phone with Miller and they said the $400 is actual purchase price, which would be after the 30% discount.

Dang, I just got an email from the miller rebates team where they told me that as long as the line items add up to $400 that is fine even if there is an additional discount on total order. Here is email exchange.

Hi Michael,

As long as the line item pricing totals $400, then we’re good to go. So yes, that will be fine.

Thank you!!

Hello Miller Team,

Can you clarify a question on the Build With Blue Rebate as I am getting conflicting info.

For the qualifying $400 is accessories. If I have purchased $400 in accessories as shown on the line items but I then have a percentage off coupon on my entire order, does that still qualify?
Or, does it have to be $400 in accessories after any type of discounts?

Thanks,

Mike

Were you wanting two spool guns (I guess one after you sell)? The rebate form says specifically not to order it.

Its not that you may not order the spool gun but rather that you will be charged for it if you do. The "free" spool gun is sent after rebate processed.

Order a Tablesaw and a milwaukee fuel impact bare tool and a milwaukee chop saw. I tried to order a concrete mixer but it would cause my order to no go through....I'm happy overall.

A little but not too much. I would have simply changed the order otherwise.

I was getting a second one to resell and meet the $400 minimum after discounts. I might be cancelling that item if Amphicar770 is correct, and I'm able to buy $400 before the discount.

That might be the better solution. Who knows what they'll sell for now that the market will be flooded with these.

I just called Zoro, as one of the items on my list was discontinued, so my order no longer meets the $400 level. She spoke with a supervisor and came back and told me there is no way to add another item to my order, it was already processed and completed, sent to 4 warehouses, but also that Zoro is a subsidiary of Grainger, and they do not meet the qualifications of the promotion, so I would need to buy through Grainger to get the rebate from Miller.

Anyone heard anything about this?

Zoro will cover returns, so I may end up sending it all back...

What item was discontinued? Cancel your original order and reorder.

I would fill out the rebate and see before you return. I've heard many say they got their rebates when buying from Zoro.

Just called Miller, spoke with Tal (I think). He checked, stated that Zoro was not an authorized distributor, so purchases there would not qualify, it would have to come from Grainger.

Not sure about this now, but people on previous page were getting theirs. Not sure if it is worth it or not yet.

Did everyone that got their rebate send the zoro receipt or some slip from the truck that said grainger?
I got a miller oxy-act setup and the weld cart to hit the 400 in extra miller stuff.

This is not the first zoro flash sale. If you look at some of the many earlier sales where people bought these, they never had a problem with their rebates. The past does not gaurantee the future but I think there would be a lot of noise here on the journal if people had problems previously. The biggest gripe I see is that sometimes Zoro cancels out of stock items and then the buyer misses the rebate threshold.

I hope the hell the rebate goes through, I spent time convincing a friend to order this just because of the rebates. I will feel like a real *** and probably pony up the $400 myself if they deny his rebate. Would this also mean that miller can deny the warranty if zoro is not an authorized seller?

I am one that ordered last time and already received my $400 rebate check. I just submitted the invoice from zoro.

This time I got
M18 Fuel Sawzall with one battery
Dewalt Rotozip for drywall
Bosch Stubby spade bit set
And the cabinet to organize my fastenal bolts which are still sitting in the two boxes because I don't know where to put them.

Even if it isn't, you'll still get $200 back on the machine itself and you're getting 30% off on all the accessories.

The difference is that I did not need all of the additional accessories, I added a couple of Miller branded (non consumable) items to qualify, and I am also concerned about the spool gun. Its not the $200 rebate difference, it is the ~$650 difference with the $400 rebate and a $250 spool gun.

Yes, others in the past have received the rebate, which I noted above. And Zoro did cancel an OOS item, noted in a post above as well...

A great question, anyone that has taken advantage of the promotion able to help?

I already received an email with the tracking numbers for the stuff I ordered 5 hours ago. Hard to argue with that.

Is there any way to get wind of these sales just a little earlier? I decided it was a nice day for some work out door and BAM goes the flash sale! The pain of having a cart full yet not catching the 30% off train.

If there isn't one between now and July there will certainly be one for the fourth.

There'll be lots of welders going back if the Miller rebates aren't good for Zoro purchases now.

I personally have used the rebate with a Zoro purchase but that was in early 2014. The spoolgun this time was enough to trick me into upgrading my mig setup. However, if the rebates do end up not working i'll just keep what I got and send the 211 back.

FWIW when I did the rebate before I did make sure and purchase enough that the after discount amount hit the threshold of the rebate. That seemed to make sense and worked without issue.

You're the kind of dude I'd punch in the face if I ever had to actually talk to you in person.

Are we related? :lol_hitti You sound like me and my old man. You know what he always said, " I bet if I gave you a million dollars, you'd complain that it was too heavy to carry!"

Just scored a delta pro toolbox 30% off. Checked my email and saw the coupon and had to do it. I was waiting for the may sale for it but nabbed it today. over 100 bucks saved.

Well damn, all good things come to an end...

I had 18 items that have been in my shopping cart for a long time after I missed the last 30% off sale. I researched the **** out of them and only 1 of those items was competitively priced, the others could all be found appreciably cheaper through other reliable vendors. But, with a 30% off Zoro would beat them.

Unfortunately due to my recent move from CO to CA, Zoro now has to charge big sales tax, so even after the coupon my total savings for all of the items combined in my cart was under 7%. ****. I ended up ordering just one thing, a MW 18v shear.

I will monitor some price tracking sites for the other 17 things and watch for sales from other vendors who don't charge sales tax in CA or shipping and hopefully still scrounge some deals.

NO, definitely not Zoro's fault and I'm not blaming them, but for me with the exception of competitively priced items pre-sales code, the 30% sales will be no big deal any longer. Bummer, I used to really look forward to these things and dropping some hard earned coin.

Yea you have to treat Zoro like a going out of business sale and be weary of how much the markup is before the "big sale". Its a tactic, they hope people are simply wowed by the discount percent and don't do any real research.

I was looking at getting a few SK things. Pricing ranged from lowest on the net by a pretty fair margin to nearly a hundred dollars more than the competition AFTER the sale price. Google price compare is your friend when it comes to shopping a Zoro.

As has been said repeatedly, DO YOUR RESEARCH when it comes to pricing.

For example, certain brands do not allow pricing under some amount (MAP). An example from my purchase history is Panavise, who make some of the best small electronics vises and workholding gear. Every item of Panavise's that Zoro carries is priced identically to Amazon or anywhere else on the net. Thus, when there's a 30% off coupon from Zoro, I can get the stuff I need for 30% off.

Makita LXT Lithium Ion 4.0AH Batteries: BL1840, G8519813, for example:
Home Depot: $119, Amazon: $111.06, Zoro: $122.63 normal, $85.84 with the 30% off. That's a screaming deal, even though their normal price is higher than retail.

SK 4043 flip socket impact set: G5100672
Amazon $45.48, Zoro: $44.10 before coupon. A Coupon is just going to make this even more of a deal (if you need it).

SK 94547 toolkit: G4300886
Amazon: $139.99, Zoro: $255.20... No coupon less than 45.2% off is going to make that cheaper than Amazon.

Curious what accessories everyone ordered with the Miller 211

Protective Cover
(1) 11lb spool of 0.035 Wire
(2) 11lb spool of 0.025 Wire
(3) 11lb spool of 0.030 Wire
Enough consumables to last for years (tips/nozzles/diffusers/liners/etc), for both the regular gun and the spool gun
Grinding shield and spare lenses
Welding gloves

I already have a nice Jackson hood and BSX jacket, so didn't need much PPE stuff. Plus I figured the consumables will need to bought at some point in time regardless, so might as well get them for free. I had also planned to get some spools of aluminum wire, but even though it said it was from Hobart, the brand name was not. I didn't want to chance it, so opted not to get any.

Side note, this was my first time buying from Zoro, and as everyone has stated before, their website is horrendous for the most part. The search function does work well though, and I was able to punch in the Miller part numbers and pull up everything I wanted easily. Checkout was easy, and order processing was stupid fast. I got my tracking number(s) last night, and will have a nice shiny new welder to play with on Monday. Overall, I'd say it was a positive experience, and will definitely be buying from them again.....if the price is right :D

Yes, if you re-read this it is precisely what I did.

Unfortunately due to the CA tax situation, Zoro sales for me will become methodical cherry picking for the one or two items on my big list that the sale makes worth buying vs. the hoard of gluttony they were in the past with no tax, free (sometimes next day) delivery, and great prices with the 30% off deals. Bummer because I really like Zoro but I still have to stay on my budget.
