In Texas you are charged tax with Zoro. However, the last couple orders with Zoro were delivered by Next Day Dynamix, so that's hard to beat even with Amazon Prime.

Do they no longer carry Milwaukee? Am I doing something stupid here? I can't find the M12 Lantern on there.

I think this one is cheaper on amazon even after 30%. the 2135timax is cheaper on zoro with 30%. just like anything.. need to shop around.

I been wait for this 30% for a couple items but wasn't ready to spend the money right now :(

Ya I could have saved ~$23 going through amazon, but F it I like supporting Zoro and it's worth it in my book.

Need one more item about $24 to get to exactly $300. Any suggestions?

Already added the Knipex Pliers Wrenches from 5 to 12in.

Have a magnetic holder for my Milwaukee multimeter too.

Anything else?

Just FYI, there is an additional coupon code BUYTODAY also good for 30% off. With this, you could place two separate orders.

In addition, it's listed as expiring 9/23 instead of 9/22... YMMV as that has varied.

I saved $245. I also refuse to participate in the other thread. This is the only Zoro thread and that is the way it should stay.

the cs590 on zoro with 30% off is the best deal I ever found.. 303$ plus tax

Just do it guys on the fence ! That cs-590 is awesome. I'm using it for milling some english walnut lately. Great saw for most people. I got about 40 hours on mine so far (that would be full throttle milling hours mostly). You cannot do better for a 60 cc saw or even come close. Next closest is about $200 more for less saw. I told a friend at work about it and he bought one too. He was *amazed* at what it could do. Ported muffler even better. I have yet to do that as I just haven't needed to yet.

Well, I didn't need to spend any money but I'm now waiting for my proto 14 piece reversible ratcheting wrench set in metric, out the door for like $225 shipped. How could I pass that up?

Bought the Knipex Pliers Wrench range (5in, 6in, 7 1/4in, 10in, and 12in), plus a magnetic clip for my Milwaukee multimeter that I got on clearance from Home Depot (G0334187). Don't know why Milwaukee didn't just build in a magnet to their multimeters. A magnet makes working in so many areas that much easier.

Then got two small wash bottles to put cutting fluid in to make it easier to spray onto work surfaces when cutting.

Rounded it out with a 18in locking c clamp for welding.

$302-30%. Good day and took a lot of things off my need to buy list!

Ah. AFAIK eBates, RetailMeNot, etc are not official sources of discount codes.

They were provided the code by Zoro, so I think it's pretty official. The eBates code you can combine with eBates cash back - I got 30% off from Zoro, 2% cash back from eBates and 1.5% from my credit card company. The time
I used a non-eBates code, Zoro removed rhe 2% after it had already been credited to me.

Same experience with ebates. I've had times where I used ebates codes too and they removed the money after it was credited. If you ever have that happen, email them and they will re-add it.

just to waste YOUR bandwidth. why would you respond to it? :headscrat

We get bored easily. :spit:

And why in the hell would anyone get pissed that Ebates, staybates or even masterbates, whatever it's called says the date of the discount is good for two days (plus stacking discounts) when Zoro states quite clearly these codes are only good for a specific day and time as well as you cannot not use additional discounts. WTF is your problem?, get over it.

What are you blabbing about? Zoro didn't release BUYTODAY nor say it was good for any time period, reason, etc. They gave it to eBates to release... it was an eBates-specific code.

Wouldn't be much of a flash sale if it was announced in advance :)

Anyone have any idea of what happened to the Millermatic 211? It disappeared from my cart and I can't pull it up on Zoro anymore. The web page for it is 404.

Well Miller did discontinue making the transformer version around the end of July, the current 211 is now an inverter model. I'm guessing they probably sold out of the old models.

Sounds like I did the right thing in hesitating to pull the trigger, although the xmfr version is probably more bullet-proof.

Odd that Zoro took the old page down instead of just showing it back-ordered. I wonder if they'll give the new version a different stock number.

It has a different miller part number, so probably will be a new listing. And Miller did discontinue the transformer model, so that's probably why they took it down rather than list it as backordered, because they most likely can't get them anymore. I don't know if anyone still has them available. Maybe some local places, pretty sure most if not all of the online shops have sold out. Some had them on sale to get rid of them.

The rebate works on the new one as well, so if zoro does start selling them, you can still get the rebate from miller, just not the spool gun they offered earlier in the year.

Soo...for those who have found a Grainger part # but no trace exists on Zoro's site, did you have luck getting Zoro to sell you the item if you called, and did they just use Grainger's price?

Help an ignorant person: how does a transformer vs. inverter affect a welder?

They say -

"An inverter welder is a type of welding power supply capable of providing a high current for welding. The welder uses a series of rectifiers and solid-state switches to convert 60 Hz alternating current (AC) input power into direct current (DC) output power. The amount of output current and voltage available during the welding process is controlled by computer software. An inverter welder weighs considerably less while at the same time consumes less electricity than a comparable traditional welding power supply."

Only downside to inverters is their longevity hasn't been proven as the transformer units have. The transformer unit is a more simple design than an inverter, so units with transformers may have less issues. But yes, inverter models are much lighter and more power efficient.

Right, a transformer welder doesnt have fancy let electronics, just a big hunk of iron and windings to reduce the voltage.

Inverters still have some inductors, but don't have to be as large because they run at higher frequencies.

The downside is that they are a lot more complex and transistors aren't as rugged as transformers.

Doesn't seem to work that way.

:see:

I thought Zoro had everything Grainger carried but I can't find the Jet 16-32 on zoro

http://www.grainger.com/product/JET-Open-Stand-Drum-Sander-42W761?s_pp=false&picUrl=//static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/42W761_AS01?$smthumb$

Dave

Not everything unfortunately.

Some people have claimed they've been able to call in and get stuff ordered, but I have yet to see any evidence.

From what our Grainger rep told me, Zoro carries 800000 of Graingers most popular items.
The reps hate Zoro, as they now need to compete with their own company.

Nope.

Grainger carried two metal lengths, lets say one 6' and one 12'. Zoro only has the 6'. (They have 12' in other profiles, so it's not the length.) I emailed and they told me to buy from Grainger for nearly 2X the list price.

So it all depends. It ***** as I need a bunch of stuff and it would have been great to get it all from Zoro and getting it fast, but I can save about 40% off my total ordering it from separate places.

i was told by zoro that i got the last 211 when i bought it on the flash sale last week and they removed it from their listing. they also told me they do not know when the new inverter one will be available from them and that it WILL have a different part number.

i am indifferent about transformer vs inverter and my buddies who are heavy into welding lean towards the transformer older one. not saying one is better than the other. mine will be on a cart virtually all the time and i am a big boy so toting is not a big deal. my son in law who is the only other person who will use it is a big boy too.

i bought the needed accessories to get the rebate up to 400 bucks. the spool gun would have been nice for free but a buddy of mine has one he never uses and said if i needed it i could have it till he wants it back.

their shipping is fast. i had it all in a few days and i live in the country.

even though their online price for the 211 was considerably higher than anywhere else, by the time you got 30 percent off and the same on the accessories (which are priced more fairly) then bundled with the rebate and cash back on credit card, it was a smokin deal. i did call miller to make sure the rebate would be good for the old 211 and they confirmed that it was.

The rep at zoro told me when I called, "we have no way to order it from/through Grainger even though we have the ability to look at all of the Grainger stock. We can only get the item if it is in the Zoro system."
