I've noticed that the past few sales. And yes it will drastically reduce what large items I'll get from Zoro. 20% off $50 will be my go to now on for consumable type stuff.

It *****, I had planned on getting another welder from them. I am glad that I bought my nice expensive Fluke meters from them, heck those were with a 30% off sale.

It's been slowly growing. I think manufacturers are catching on and enforcing their agreements with grainger/zoro. Case in point, I picked up a sawstop last Sept while they were still flying under the radar. Sure enough, they have added them to the restricted list sometime this year.

I bought this model from AWD:

The unit was not used at all, but clearly shipped a few times. The picture was wrong on Amazon, as it does not come with casters. So a call to Amazon, and they credited me back $80. Bringing the total out of pocket to $240.

Then, the motor started making a grinding sound, so a call to Portacool, new motor on the way under warranty. AWD mis-listed a low water pump cutoff switch, which I got for $12 (it was listed as a vinyl cover). Installed that, and no worry about running the pump dry.

I welded up a steel base with casters for mine. Cools the 3 bay garage in 100f degree heat in Phoenix. I love it! And Portacool customer service was top notch to boot.

Pads still good, going on 3rd season. I did buy 1 small box of the MK hardwater treatment Portacool sells, no idea of its' effectiveness.

I would say go for one, but keep an eye on Amazon, they'll have a deal sometimes (if you are not in a hurry).

They clearanced a a few models from home depot last year for 75% off. Almost got one then read up on evaporative coolers. Don't work so great here in the humid southeast. Wish it did though.

Call them, when they are open, they will be very helpful.

I have never had an issue with them, that they couldn't resolve, while also making me a very happy customer.

They have the best customer service of all online companies that I have dealt with. A quick call will likely resolve it.

It did state limited quantities and they do not bill you untill the item is shipped. I order from zoro all the time.

I recently placed my first order with Zoro. A number of items, all "In stock, Shipping in one business day." One item shipped next day, the rest on the second day. They sent three boxes. Two of them were equivalent to large flat rate USPS boxes. One box had a 4oz bottle of Starrett tool oil in it. Nothing else. The other box had a nail polish sized bottle of Loctite 263 in it. Nothing else. Well, except crumpled brown paper. :bounce:

Multiple items were in the third box, which was appropriately sized.

Seemed wasteful, but with fast, accurate shipping and listings (unlike Amazon) and the 25% off I got with the recent sale, I'm happy and would use them again.

Customer service did get back to me today. Item on BO until 7/7.

I'm in no real hurry for my order, but still less than pleased at the communication.

I order a lot of items from a lot of suppliers, and Zoro is getting it's **** kicked in the communication/tracking dept.

Their competion is doing a better job.

probably came from different warehouses ?

Two packages came from one warehouse. They were tendered to UPS at the same place and same time. And traveled and arrived together.

The Starrett oil in a giant box came from a different warehouse.
