Lista Auction Funds Tornado Relief!

I’m a Red River kid… I’ve spent half my life in Oklahoma and the other half in Texas. I quite literally grew up around tornadoes. In fact, I watched the 1999 tornado that hit Moore  from my roof top in Norman, OK. The devastation was unimaginable and this latest round of twister damage is even worse.

So Motorhead Extraordinaire, Lista International Corporation, and The Garage Journal have all teamed up in an effort to provide just a little relief. Here’s the press release from Motorhead:

Motorhead Extraordinaire has partnered with  Lista International Corporation  and The Garage Journal  to hold a fundraiser to support the Oklahoma tornado relief efforts. Lista, in collaboration with Motorhead, will be auctioning a vintage Lista SC750 Mobile Cabinet, originally used in the Lista factory. The Garage Journal will be hosting the auction on its forum, with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross.

“Having just been through the recent Boston Marathon tragedies, we understand and share the pain of our friends in Oklahoma,” said Joe Germann, President and CEO at Motorhead Extraordinaire. “We want to help, and at the same time give someone an opportunity to own a beautiful vintage Lista mobile cabinet, compliments of Motorhead Extraordinaire and Lista International.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the recent weather events in Oklahoma,” added Peter Lariviere, President of Storage & Workspace Solutions at Stanley Black & Decker. “The Lista International business has great friends and customers in the Oklahoma region, and we are pleased to help those affected by his tragic event.”

….

Rad, right? Who couldn’t use a vintage SC750 mobile cabinet  from Lista in their shop?

Here’s the deal:

– This auction will last 2 weeks.

– Bid by simply replying to this post with the amount you are willing to pay.

– On June 19 at noon central, the highest bidder will be our winner… And as said, 100% of the proceeds will go to the tornado relief efforts in Oklahoma.

Bid heavy and often – its for a great cause! And a special thanks to both  Motorhead Extraordinaire  and  Lista International Corporation  – you guys rule!

Needless to say, both LISTA and us at Motorhead Extraordinaire are excited about the support from the Garage Journal members. Nothing like stepping up to the plate when our friends need help.

To help sweeten up this beautiful vintage cabinet, we are going to add in drawer partition/divider kits as well as a bunch of plastic parts boxes. This will help the winning bidder get totally organized.

Thank you for supporting our friends in Oklahoma,
Joe

Whatever donation you choose to make, please do your research to see how much truely goes to those in need. I just got home from scout camp in Colorado where we were evacuated from camp on Wednesday due to the fires and the Red Cross got us cots and blankets and a place to sleep as well as a place to finish up the merit badges we could and the Salvation Army got us plenty of food and water/gatorade to keep us hydrated. Also a local BBQ place fed us hot meals and locals showed up with fresh fruit.

OK - with my very first post on Garage Journal - I'll bid $1400. I don't have room for it, but it's pretty, and it's for a good cause.

To honor all of the Oklahoma fathers who watch over our children, we're going to add in another $200 donation on top of the winning bid.

Happy Fathers Day

How about a last minute bump for this great cause. You have less than 2 hours to bid on this beautiful LISTA cabinet for our Oklahoma fund raiser.

If anyone has last minute questions feel free to post them or PM me.

Thanks for all of the great support.

Congratulations to Kidasters (Ken) for placing his winning, and very generous, bid on the classic LISTA cabinet.

Along with his winning bid of $1400, we are kicking in another $200 donation, and Ryan is kicking in $200 towards the shipping.

We thank everyone for their bids, words of encouragement, and caring for our friends in Oklahoma.

Regards,
Joe Germann

Thanks for doing this guys. I live a few mile from the devastation and it is still hard to find words when driving by. Reminds you to be thankful and humble to have your family and friends around. I know a few people directly affected and they are in great spirits and would say thank you to anyone for prayers or who helps out.

Very sincerely, C.

Hey Guys -

An update. Got a nice letter from the American Red Cross. Happy to help.
After a bit of a delay because of vacation (mine), tool box will be at my house on Friday. I will take some pics of it in it's carved out hole, and add that to this thread.

Thanks again to Ryan, Joe and the folks at Lista. Cool box for a good cause.
