My sanders of choice in Texas are a Festool Rotex 150 (the best all around sander I’ve ever used) and the Festool ETS 125 (fantastic finish sander). While most people in woodworking tend to emphasize the table saw in their shop, I’ve always put my focus on the track saw. In my Texas shop, dust collection is the key reason behind this. In Hawaii, however, dust collection isn’t as big of a concern. Space, however, is… So, with no real room for a table saw at the moment I’ve called on the track saw once again. A few weeks back I reviewed the Baton 3 on gearjournal.com. Much to my surprise, Olight read the review and sent me another for free to take a look at – no strings attached. I’ve been dragging my feet on building an outfeed table, found something for cheap that might work at Home Depot, and I’m kind of in love with it? Yeah, I think I like this thing. Its biggest advantage (height adjustable) is also its biggest weakness – wasted space. But, I’m thinking of building some sort of a dedicated dust collector for my table saw on the under side of this thing. And because it’s mobile, I could move it around to other tools if needed.
