Billet Cargo Tie Downs

A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed a set of tie downs that I liked. During the proceeding discussion, one of our users mentioned that he had a small business that designed and manufactured cargo tie downs for various trucks. Next thing I knew, he sent me a set and I was installing both his bedside tie downs as well as his rail tie downs on my Toyota Tacoma. If you are unfamiliar, the Tacoma comes with both fixed bed side eyelets as well as easily moveable tie downs made of plastic that slide fore and aft on a bedside …

Rhino USA Tie Downs

About four years ago, I ran out of tie downs and set out to buy the best I could find. I searched everywhere and then stumbled onto Rhino tie downs… They had incredible reviews and were made in the USA – How can you beat that, right? Turns out, they actually aren’t made in the USA. I’m not sure if Rhino is trying insinuate that with their name or not, but the straps are made in China. Let that much be clear. Regardless, I have very much been surprised by the quality of these tie downs. I bought a 4-pack …

ToughBuilt Reload

We’ve established that I have a problem… I obsess on utility knives. From the Maker Knife to cheap Chinese knockoffs to expensive custom jobs – I’ve tried as many as I can get my hands on. One I haven’t tried is the ToughBuilt Reload. Essentially, it’s a utility knife that stores blades in a magazine for both easy blade storage and change overs. I like the idea of the Reload, but to be frank – I don’t have a need. Plus, this thing is a unit and a bit big for my every day carry needs. But I can see …

Gladiator Garage Cabinets

I typically don’t mess with big box store brands – especially when it comes to a commitment as large as a shop cabinet. Reason being, if you end up with something large and heavy that doesn’t suit your needs, it’s like having a boat anchor in the desert – it’s always in your way and it’s hard as hell to get rid of. And so, owning a couple of garage cabinets from Gladiator isn’t something I ever thought I’d realize. But, a few weeks ago I found myself in a Home Depot standing next to two 36″ x 72″ x …

Spotless Water Conversion

Back in 2016, I reviewed a spotless water system from CR Spotless. We live out in the country, get our water from a well that produces incredibly hard water, and so… a water softener of some kind is absolutely necessary to wash both cars and the windows on our house. As such, my CR Spotless system has been used quite regularly. For the most part, the system has performed admirably over the years. The one negative is the cost of resin. At first, I could get through about ten car washes per $20 of resin, but that performance has declined …
