No idea if these things are durable enough to be used in a real shop or even usable at all. But, you have to admire the aesthetic of an over-engineered driver designed with products of old in mind – namely, the Baumann-Weltrecord Driver. For the machinists out there, this would be a really fun product to make on your own… and for those without the tooling/skills, if nothing else… this is a pretty neat fidget toy. Details here.

I have no idea how you guys live up North and deal with real winters. It’s madness. A few months back, I spoke about an EDC utility blade that I found and loved. You can read all about that here. A lot of people on knife forums claim that the “Exceed Designs” flipper is made in the US. I’ve found that while the Exceed Designs version might be assembled in the US, I believe it to be machined in China. I’ve always used the classic Bosch Colt as my palm router of choice. I like it because of its power to weight ratio as well its user interface. It’s a simple motor with a collet and a platform that is easy to build jigs for. However, I left my Colt at the APO and needed a new palm router for the Atomic Lab. Why not try something different?
