In 1990, I installed a V8 6.9 Diesel in my R120 International. I needed a good cold air supply for the motor. I repurposed the fresh air ducting from a 1994 F250. The Ford duct fits the conture of the IH inner fender, like it was made for it. Once again, I am refitting the cold-air duct to an L110. IHC.
I fitted/repurposed a fuel tank from a 1990 Chevy Van. The tank fits my Old IHC, perfectly.
The tachometer is from a 1940s International truck. I will go into the dash of my "L".
I repurposed a Bendix Hydro Boost to mt "L". I had to modify the OEM IH pedal pivot to fit the booster. The Bendix is a perfect *** and close to the power steering pump.
That R has gone to a good home.

Heat gun reflector nozzle for my heat gun. Heat gun was $20.00, I didn't want to pay $15.00 for a reflector.
Reflector shield made from kitchen spoon and mechanic's wire.

Not an oh my God why didn't I think of that moment but I really didn't think it was going to hold it. 6202.rs seized up bearing actually makes a good base for the Harbor Freight work like to use it as a desk light,or temporary work light on your desk.
I thought it would be top heavy but it's not! 😱
I might try to find another light so I can just leave one up here!

Do you mind sharing the size of the tubing?
Sorry l just saw this.
You might have to experiment a little bit but I used 2 mm inside diameter by 4 mm outside diameter but I did drill the inside out a little bit.
I would tell you but I don't know what size drill bit I even used.
2 mm inside diameter and 4 mm outside diameter gives you a little bit of room to work with on the ID and the OD if needed.
If I remember right one of the advertisements for the Delphi tool said it was 3 mm outside diameter
I'm sure my 4 mm OD is now three millimeter OD by the time I dressed it down a few times removing bars and whatnot.
But I mean it don't take much if you like fooling around with that kind of thing.
It was like $2 on eBay. It came from China but it actually got here pretty quick!
Wait I'll get the link.
This company seems decent they don't take forever to get in here.

I used a solid double gang outlet cover I had lying around the shop.
I rounded the corners a bit on a belt sander....It makes a great stable base that is harder to tip over.....

@csp This is my original GM supplied, spring loaded, weather pack terminal removal tool.

IMG_3995.jpeg

Tube OD 3.26mm or .128”

Tube ID 2.95mm (converted) or .116” (measured with a #32 drill, snug fit)

Hope this helps

I love the graphics on that tachometer!

Thank You. I like that look, also. The red DANGER zone makes me smile. I will take the tach apart for a full service. A local print shop has offered to scan the dial face and make a replacement. The first one is the most expensive and the next dozen or so take the average way down. I am thinking of maybe ordering 20. I will convert my other vintage tachometers to the bright graphics and give them a service.
I am going to add another simple repurpose that works well. It is a power trunk lid release with a hidden emergency release. The power for the release is from an F150 door lock system. I use the power door lock to activate the trunk release/catch. I added a hidden manual trunk release handle for the Oh **** moment when the power fails.

I like the box cover idea.

Warning, slight thread derail ahead
I need more light the older I get so I mounted a metal plate for my light on the back of my wooden drill press fence. The drill press has a light built in but this is much more effective
IMG_4004.jpeg

I also made this light holder to mount the light Into the dog holes on my woodworking bench.
Very simple. A piece of 3/4” alum. rd. stock, turned down slightly with a washer screwed to one end.
(I miss having access to a lathe)

Just a tip, change the bead chain to a string or a zip tie. The two dissimilar metals will cause corrosion on the copper and it will evantually develop pin holes in that spot.
Had the same concern as over time that could happen. Perhaps a few wraps of black electrical tape can make a nice simple barrier.

When big trash day comes around in my neighborhood I’m always on the look out for kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities etc.
Most drawer fronts, especially without holes for hardware, can yield some nice straight pieces of hardwood. Sometimes, part of the face frame is worth the effort.

I usually don’t give IKEA or flat pack type furniture a second glance.
However I recently found a bunch of nice mattress support slats in a pile of particle board ****.
30” long, 3 1/2” wide, straight grain, and tight, if any, knots.

I “repurposed” one yesterday along with a scrap of laminate covered something, into a cordless tool holder for one of the bottom drawers in my toolbox. Made the whole thing with one slat.

I don’t really consider it a ”repurpose” but I’m probably going to use part of it to keep my ramps from sliding on the garage floor.

I’ll cut two pieces and **** them up against that small step up you see in the picture, and then **** the ramps up against them.

The ramps work fine for anything front wheel drive, but my truck and my Jeep just push them on the painted floor.

Pretty sure the guy I bought the house from just used exterior paint on the garage floor. It looked perfect the day I was moving in, but was scratched to hell by the time I was done unloading the tools and equipment.

I ain’t sweating it, it’s a garage right? First time I broke out the band saw and welder, it became obvious the floor wasn’t going to be pretty for long.lol

I've had a few ratty old military stretchers around for years. We had to have them with the first aid supply's on jobsites. Eventually the cloth starts to rot off so I've kept a few old ones around for when a use came up. Anyway I put a balcony over one end of my big bench to add a bit more storage and it needed handrails. Two stretcher frames and a little 1-1/4" emt conduit and a handrail is born. Ed.

Thanks Senlow, I'm happy with how the handrail turned out. I'm packed in the shop pretty tight these days but I think I'll leave an open space to sit and think up on this little platform. It's a good place to take in the view and plan new projects. Nearly all of the materials in the shop have been repurposed at least once before. The big bench that the platform is standing on was originally part of a temporary bridge. Ed.

After dropping an oil filter in the drain pan... again. I repurposed this leftover scrap of wire shelving into a drain rack. I'll add caps to the sharp cut ends and clean up the spots where I cut off wires once I am done with the oil change. (I was so aggravated about dropping the filter that I interrupted the oil change to fab this up and post it, LOL.)

I would have been so mad too!

Off topic again, as I sometimes go, but I was so mad the other day too, I had just brought home Nickles 12 grain bread, it's my favorite bread in the world, and it was on the floor in the bag waiting to get put up later, and I had to end up falling, and fell on the dang bread, and totally smashed it!

They were crazy money for the Delta ones at the time, So I seen these on Epay, and got the Idea to make my own. I dialed them in in the 4 jaw, and drilled and power tapped them in back gear, right on the lathe.

As purchased from Ebay.
