Speaking of safety, how about a quick tip.
If you look down at your shorts…..
IMG_9920.jpeg
And you’re not painting something red, it’s best to stop and take a quick look.

How does it go from 40/25 on Sunday to 74/65 on Wednesday? It Is nice wearing shorts and my safety shoes. 🤗

A couple more truck loads moved from whse to new shop. This repurposed school lunch tray cart nests under this hospital table so will probably keep it.

First time these have been stacked.

The storage room/loft is becoming handy to get organized and have things out of the way.

Rearranged this area, starting to feel like a semi-functional shop (at least half of it)
Fridge, microwave, clock, tunes, battery chargers, tools and hardware.
IMG_9977.jpeg

And to assist with clearing out the whse shop and keep the unfinished side of new shop uncluttered

shop is coming along nice!. how much trouble was it getting the container? I was wondering how that connex process works. the wife wants the house garage cleaned out and I have no space. maybe I can get her to let me get a 40ft if I clean out the house garage for her

Scott,
Depends on who you get it from. There’s a lot of independent “brokers” on FB Marketplace and such. I also contacted a national company but didn’t like paying 100% up front and not knowing what I would be getting. I found a place just over the state line that actually has new and used containers. A road trip and handshake, I scheduled the delivery.
I called the local Mobile Mini but their price was almost double.
The county it’s in doesn’t have rules or I haven’t heard of any, so…... 🤫
I imagine Tampa has some businesses that actually have containers you can see.
There’s 5 levels. New, one trip, cargo worthy (Intl), wind weather tight (Domestic), needs work, with price being high to low.

Thanx!, I think WWT would be good for me, but the wife would be happier if it was a nicer looking one color one like a one trip. difference is like 2K, but that doesnt include painting a WWT, definitely need that storage to keep a tub out of your garage......

Along with safety, I’m also a connoisseur of storage totes and boxes.
Since I can remember (4 or 5 yo) , we moved 10 times in 15 years. Since moving from home I moved an additional 14 times. I sometimes envy those that had one childhood home and one or two homes with their wife.
There’s boxes from when I moved from home, boxes from when I was in the military and several homes.

More pallets ready to go. Yes purging as I go and marking others that need further review.

A friend was getting rid of a Makita resaw bandsaw which is supposedly 450 lbs. while trying trying to load it on the trailer, it decided to identify as a battery box.
Luckily for me it landed where I had already had a scar.
IMG_0057.jpeg
To aid with moving stuff from the loft, I brought a cargo net. Much better than just a strap but I found I was having to lift the load over the edge because of the long slings. Brain fart and 30 minutes fab work later, the crane is higher.

Much better and I can move things like this.

The net and this mod has made a big difference.

Since when do you wear shoes that cover your feet?

I forgot about a mishap from yesterday but seeing what happened to Harley Jim’s BIL, his mishap brought back memories.
While trying to load the 24” brake, (aka battery box) it fell over. Luckily no injuries. IMG_0104.jpeg
To unload, I unbolted the brake. Now I just need to figure out how to get the box upright.

I too was confused seeing closed toe shoes, especially seeing they didn't protect you from drawing blood???

Things are looking good moving stuff around is good and bad, I bet you will have a few more projects by the time you are done moving.

I would put some larger vents in the front and rear of the conex, they are fairly tight and condensation can be an issue. Up here it is worse as the snow creates condensation that just won't quit.

See no Safety Shoes = blood.

Yes the project list is growing.

It has the little vents in a front corner and rear corner. I’d like to spray foam one day so an exhaust fan might be used in the interim.

How’s the move going, update?
Blood?😜
It’s moving right along and being a safety expert no blood.

You know when they say you should double your estimated time or build a the shop bigger, well I’m finding out one should triple the amount of stuff they think they have.
Hopefully Friday and Saturday gets everything but torching Christine into smaller pieces of scrap metal.

ahh, the effects of Murphy's Law of Decompression! years of stored "things" then moved to a new space expands to at least 10X!

Mack, one thing I’ve ran into is what I need at new shop is at old shop and vice versa. Luckily I don’t have to drive to Jersey to get the item.
The whse shop will be completely empty. Hopefully I don’t regret throwing out the things I think I’ll need. 🤔

Don't be silly, of course you'll regret throwing some things out. Hopefully it'll only be a small handful of things.

That’s Bare the bear. Got him when I was stationed in Korea.
At our campsite during a bike rally, he sat in a chair wearing a Budweiser bandana and a bunch of beads. In his lap was a sign saying “Bare for Beads” I’d show some of the pics but would probably get banned from GJ.

Hey everyone, I’d like to ask that we all have a moment of silence for Shorty today, wishing him good luck and a safe day as he embarks on one of the last tasks of moving out of his shop.

He‘ll be taking that ***** Christine apart today and removing the remains. This is the electric forklift that attacked him years ago. Just wondering is there’s any reason it’s the last to go?🤔😳. Wonder if Shortys noticed if it’s moved around any on its own?😳😳.

He’ll be arming himself with a torch (I said Arming, not harming). We wish you had cameras!

Heres to a safe day🍻.

PS, wear some closed top shoes, the torch sparks are a *****!🤣🤣🤣
