As prep" for the room purpose swap I needed to get the weather station put up, and to do that I needed to rpep the tower I had, (thank goodness, A suitable "weather station" pole/tower was going to be several times what I spent on the Effing weather station@ this cost me labor and 2 PVC fittings:
This was supposed to be yesterday but I got rained out so I did inside fab work and room move prep.
Tower ready to install
I had to get the 3/4" pipe mounted to the extendable antenna pole, and a ground down PVC coupling inside on the pipe keeps it centered on the south end - another modified PVC fitting in the end of the pole provides a spacer, I welded the U-bolt plate I made to the pole, so that clamps the pipe solidly.
They think this will keep the pole from moving - I think not... -not without a hole in the pole and a pointed bolt... (which WILL happen but later)
This is half the solution for a positive lock on the pole height and positioning:
And this is the other half - I had to make thus removable, so the pole can be pulled out (since the top now has a cross piece welded on for the U bolt...) :
After a break; Weather tower up, weather station is installed and raised:
But the tower needed a foundation: so three bricks under the feet - this is weight support only, and the tower is attached to the front wall of my shed:
And tower up - station installed, 4 pipe clamps to the main framing, (I've already climbed the triangle part of the tower 2X - it's secure)
And at full extension:
