1) Every hit to my CLUE report impacts my future rates across the board. And you know what? Insurance covers that.
2) I'm super particular about my paint work. Hail can easily do $10k+ worth of damage. Very few shops can do jobs to my standard and even PDR - they have to drill holes sometimes.
3) It's going to show as a claim on carfax, reducing vehicle value. Not that I really buy or sell cars anymore.
Vehicle is a piece of metal? Spouse's car is a piece of metal, not mine.Life happens, it’s a piece of metal.
Yea, this is pretty much why I have never built a house and spent the money on a 30-year composite shingle. Chances of hail here wiping out the roof within 30-years are pretty good. I see there are some new materials options in roofing that may solve this issue without having to go to the 300% more expense of a metal roof that will show hail damage, but last a lifetime.I’d much rather deal with hail damage in my truck that the $28,000 claim for the house from the same storm.
There is - almost annually - hail here that will ding up a vehicle (not baseball size) but not destroy the residential roof... That's a little more common, but it's also why all the vehicles are inside.
