BMW, can you tell us more about the curved wrench?
very cool.vintage ignition roll with many extra wrenches

My guess is Athol/Starrett. I think I’d scrape as much rust off as I could and then submerge it in Metal Rescue or EvapoRust.Got some free stuff and a new challenge.
Everything sat outside for 30 years(except the screwdriver, it was in another pile of scrap so it might've been a later addition). Vise isn't just seized, it's fused together with rust. That said it's actually in decent shape for something that's been in the elements for so long. Dynamic arm isn't visibly cracked like most I've seen in this pattern.
Challenge is getting it in working order again and attempting to date it. Currently it has no identifiable markings so it's likely a no stamp but I'm curious if anyone has any guesses towards a maker.

The Estate sale company posted a LOT of pictures of what he had online. And he had lots of really good stuff! I knew if I went there, especially on the first day of the sale, that I would end up buying way more stuff than I needed. You know that gm trash can is giving some gm guy the sweats right now just looking at it. It’s actually pretty cool! And I can believe you didn’t want to go to that sale. Looks amazing just off the picture of the “sun” room!
I love how low profile it is! Not just small, but "short". Do you see what I mean? It's so squat that I don't even want to call the jaw section a "tower." And the design, with the raised diamond/spark shape on the side, is splendid.Small vice, looks to have a makers stamp, but needs a clean,
Almost certainly EnFo (English Ford), which is a very nice find!Pry bar with makers name, needs a clean,
On the vice, I do indeed see it, it reminded me of a gressel vice when I first saw it. Added the finished vice below with it's height, which is 1.5 inch, coincidentally that's the same as the jaw width. Excuse the metric, I would have to go digging to find an inch ruler.I love how low profile it is! Not just small, but "short". Do you see what I mean? Nice. I have one, posted on one of the two V&B threads, but that is a much crisper marking than mine.Vaughan & Bushnell Mfg Co Chicago USA ballpein

We are buying new furniture for the living room in preparation for the holidays, so my tool funds are limited at the moment.
It was truly an awesome sale, I'm sure that a lot of people came away satisfied.

Beautiful! You ****!Vintage hedge trimmers with a perfect-type handle
Suckage on this and the other two!So a week ago a 'tool cabinet' showed up in my local listings. Fuzzy picture. 8 drawers. Fifty bucks.
LOL nice.Estate sale ($3): Racing fire gear
...
Checked out as a bag of clothing.
You **** price! Good on you for saving it from the scrapper.A Kennedy 275 5 drawer now cleaned up. For $35.
I think that's more than reasonable. You ****!reasonably priced Wilton carpenter vise
You know you ****!Estate sale ($15): Delta 40-560 scroll saw; Stanley no. 6C fore plane (type 16); Wm. Johnson 6" blacksmith scribe.
A $30 Gerstner in great shape?? You ****! What model is it?Then there was the $30 walnut Gerstner I picked up at an estate sale.
****! ****! ****!!!I knew it was a Wilton vise, but didn't know what model. I asked the owner if it was available and his reply was "take it".
More Suckage! So a week ago a 'tool cabinet' showed up in my local listings. Fuzzy picture. 8 drawers. Fifty bucks.
How were the donuts? You **** for the Kennedy roller!"Free coffee & donuts with purchase"
Ha! Worth twice the price easily. How were the donuts?

You're smart for snatching up the brake cleaner and synthetic oil for cheap. That's a substantial savings verses making those purchases at the auto parts store. Everyone here must think I'm stating the obvious but I can't tell you how many times I've shown up late at an estate sale and those items are untouched and ignored by the earlier buyers. Some sellers have even given me slightly used containers for free.2 weeks ago I was in one of those neighborhoods with no zoning, grandfathered in homes where every yard had 20 faded little tike toys and a couple Pits that looked hungry.
At one, there was a yard sale in the future sign that I noted & returned on the date of.
The hoarder trailer was being gutted, a roll-off dumpster was filled to overflowing, a rollback wrecker was pulling some of the 10 cars out of the overgrown bushes, but I headed down the hill to a cinder block building where sign said "Free coffee & donuts with purchase"!
What a mess,,,,but free donuts!
Under the mouse pee saturated cardboard box stacks, I found a few gems to bring home.
A Kennedy 275 5 drawer now cleaned up. For $35.
Brake cleaner at a buck each.
Synthetic oil at 2 bucks each.
A mean tempered Klein Chicago grip-latch puller that has given me a blood blister on the palm for 50 cents.
Craftsman hatchet for $5.
And the Bonney Spud and Williams bridge clamp were inside the Kennedy box hidden inside the fiberglass mouse house so were "free".
And lastly this reasonably priced Wilton carpenter vise saving the rust for later.

I've been living vicariously with your deals these last few weeks as I've been really busy.
Last week the garage sale came to me!
3 years ago I was helping a neighbor move out and bought her La-Z-Boy couch for 50 bucks. Out of the blue she called me Saturday to get the matching recliner for 50 more bucks.
A good bit of cleaning and conditioning and I'm happy.
JMP *****! I spy a bunch of Bell System drivers
It was still in storage where we left it!@jb books, @JMP & @alinc100 all **** for sheer tonnage!
On the other hand, @gleman may need to take a remedial math class.
$50 for 3-seat couch = $16.67 per seat.
Three years of wear and tear later he pays three times the per/seat price for an additional single seat.
Max outlay should have been ≤ $20 if the chair swivels and the neighbor is cute!![]()
