Beemer and WNYFlyer ****! I need that little Mac hex set
Hit a couple estate sales by the same company. The first one advertised a full shop so I went to that one first. Got there within an hour of opening or so and was surprised at how few hand tools there were. Tried to buy something but they wanted like 3 bucks a socket so I bailed. Heard one of the employees talking about the other sale and he said it was “priced the same way” so I wasn’t optimistic. But it was on my way so I went by.
There were few people at the next sale and no tool guys. I ended up getting to pick through a nice Huot roller with a rally box on top. Dumped a bunch of stuff in my bag and figured I’d better get a price before I spent any more time picking. Was very pleasantly surprised when she just looked in the bag and said “how bout $20?”. That’ll work!
There’s a bunch of Proto in this and some Craftsman and other randoms but the Cornwell DOE angle wrenches were the best of this bunch. If anyone has the 5/8 AW 2020 or 13/16 AW 2626 version of these please let me know! Happy to buy or trade for them.
Dumped the previous stuff in the car and had to go back for more. Grabbed this NOS Craftsman punch set and could not leave the Crowntop bit set behind. They still have their hats!. If anyone wants the bit set for the cost of shipping let me know. It’s not my thing but I figured one of you degenerates might want it!
Was about to go out the door and noticed this little box tucked away with a $20 price tag on it. Popped it open and the first thing I saw was an SK 18mm combo which I’ve been trying to find for months to complete a set. They want stupid money for them on eBay so I figured everything else in the box would just be a bonus
Turns out there was quite a bit of stuff in it. Most of Craftsman combo sets and 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 socket sets. Then a few other bits and bobs including more Proto and my precious SK 18mm
Got to talking with the gal running the sale and she mentioned that they had auctioned the whole shop at the other sale I had just come from…would have been nice if they mentioned that! Oh well though just goes to show that you never can tell which sale booms and which sale busts! Ok I’ll quit rambling now![]()

Hey now, we don't need to be thinking about that yet !
Luckily I live North of the traditional snow belt but on occasion mother nature has other ideas. That said I had snow tires delivered the other day so I will be ready........... I think...........Luckily I live North of the traditional snow belt
Saukit *****!I think I see a baby bullet hiding behind the bigger vises! Can you guess what I missed out on this morning by mere seconds? I’ll give you a clue. It’s in the lower left of the Craigslist photo.
I was third in line, but the guy in the front was a little quicker to the shed. I don’t feel too bad though after my 4 dollar find last month.
I did get a less exciting consolation prize. Photos when I get home tonight.
I know. It was a baby in better shape than the one I picked up earlier. I bet it was cheap too. The rough part is I could have beat the guy there but he was a senior and I didn’t want to race past him. He was excited though.Man, that ***** in a bad way!

One post wonder them under an alias whilst simultaneously listing them on eBay, and then laugh all the way to the bank?I know. It was a baby in better shape than the one I picked up earlier. Sorry I'm just now catching up on this thread but I'm curious about the handle on ball pein on the far right. I recently picked up a brass ball pein with the same handle. Do you know anything about it? We're the holes for grip?Went to a local estate sale this weekend that advertised having tools. I waited a week and finally when the day came I woke up early and hit the road despite the nasty weather which I think scared off many people and they also opened the first day on a Friday. When I arrived I stopped at the garage and made a nice pile of tools. I picked a few small bags of tools already marked on a table and a couple socket trays and bits on a pegboard wall. There way a huge tote of tools and every tool was $1 each. I immediately see the Craftsman duckbill pliers and I'm thinking this is all going to be good stuff so I ask how much on the entire tote. I get it for $40 which was a steal. It did take me more than a couple hours to sort through it all since it was all haphazardly placed. A ton of neat stuff to be found. The man who passed away was a technician for Bell which explains all of the neat Bell Systems branded stamped tools. There was all sorts of phones, telephone equipment, test gear, electronics, etc. He didn't throw things away and would take things back home that were being scrapped at work. I had zero competition for tools and even picked up a bunch more on the second day. I even left a bunch of Craftsman and other great tools behind since I had so much and was pretty overwhelmed with all of this. There was a whole house and basement full of stuff. The handful of people there all went to our own separate ways. I seen other buy some vintage toys, Geiger counters, books, an airplane propeller, etc. There was even a room with all sorts of vintage cameras but definitely don't need another expensive hobby. All in I have less than $300 into everything counting gas and breakfast. I didn't feel the need to haggle on the price at all. Pretty much all the cash I had on hand and I know how hard I worked to get that money in particular so I'm glad I got to stretch that money on things I can use and just things for my collection. This is my second big tool estate sale this year. Maybe I'll post the other one here as well.

We're the holes for grip?
Were the holes for grip?
Mimicking, kinda sorta, if maybe inversely, the same effective pattern Forged Steel Products would make famous branded as Vacuum-Grip and used on pliers. Or, even more interestingly, just as likely, FSP borrowed the idea from what they had seen men doing to hammer handles for a long time.Yes. More commonly seen on tire tools, but I've seen them on other class hammers as well.

When we do our tri annual flea visits, we always notice a theme, one unique item that several vendors have “this trip”. A six foot bird cage: or one of those vise anvil combos, that you’ve never seen there before. But that murder of crowbars is taking an internal poll, “ who has seen the movie “The Birds”, so beware. Safe travels to Ca. Too far to drop in and say hey.Whether you are part of the percentage of people who consider this a Murder of Crowbars or part of the percentage of people who would consider it a Gaggle of Geeseneck Wrecking Bars, I submit my testament to the eerie feeling of now noticing them just about everywhere I turn!![]()

Also grabbed this beast for $25. I need it like a hole in the head but hoping it’s somewhat rare.

Agreed."Can anyone shed some light on this odd (to me anyway) Wisepro cutters/pliers."
Automotive trim clips.
Piece of RR rail, $13. Should make for a good benchtop anvil.
