Try a masonry bit. Finally punched through a 3/16" hole in work hardened stainless steel tubing to repair the swim ladder on the boat.

What kind of noise, just a click or a click and clank like the drive is hitting the flywheel and not going far enough in to start spinning the starter motor?Removed the starter from the Mustang as it is giving me problems. Now when I try to start the engine the starter just makes noise & the engine will not crank. The starter is not grinding; it seems like it just spins & is not engaging the flywheel. The engine I have is a 1987 5.0, the T-5 5spd trans is from a 1987 Mustang, the spacer plate between the engine & the trans is one that fits for the T-5 trans & the starter is for a 1987 Mustang.
I have read where people who have swapped an auto for the T-5 5 spd have used their original starter from the auto & have had no problems, unfortunately the original starter is long gone. I am going to try to get one for a 1969 302 automatic & see if it works. I do not know what else to do.
Nice. Maybe I would find more uses for these batteries, knowing I can charge them without having to make a pack. I mean a guy only has so many mag lites.lol
Only question left, what does the TerraLux LED look like? Is it just the bulb? Or the whole reflector assembly?

Aren't those going to get buried in a snowdrift soon?Ready for some bbq soon!
I think that's under cover. If he hooks up a tarp behind it, then he'll have a nice spot to burn burgers.Aren't those going to get buried in a snowdrift soon?
Not under our covered patio, and my BR600 will make sure that we are good to bbq all winter long. If it’s a battle to get the temps up, I got no issue bbqing in the garage with either set up!Aren't those going to get buried in a snowdrift soon?
We also got roller sunshades that can come down. Just need to screw the eyebolts in and get carabiners.I think that's under cover. If he hooks up a tarp behind it, then he'll have a nice spot to burn burgers.
Do you put nameplates with serial numbers on these to keep track of your production? You sure are pumping these out.
It sounds like the starter drive is just spinning. I pulled the starter out & I am going to bench test it to see if the starter drive is engaging. The starter has the 2 bolt flange. Here is a link to a pic of the starter. What kind of noise, just a click or a click and clank like the drive is hitting the flywheel and not going far enough in to start spinning the starter motor?
Does the 69 have the same 2 bolt flange?
IIRC in normal operation that kind of starter can't spin unless the bendix has been moved forward. Is it possible you have a bad bendix? Missing pivot pin? Fork not properly engaged in bendix? It sounds like the starter drive is just spinning. I pulled the starter out & I am going to bench test it to see if the starter drive is engaging. Yes, that is true, if the bendix isn't moved out it isn't going to turn. You can remove that top cover and see all of that, even pushing down the arm to verify the parts are working as they should. IIRC, there were basically just 2 starters for most of the Fords, a version for auto trans that has a longer nose, deeper into the bell housing and a shorted version that was shallower, the diameter of the hole the nose enters was a bit larger on the manual trans version.IIRC in normal operation that kind of starter can't spin unless the bendix has been moved forward. BR600. Is that an upgrade from BR549?Not under our covered patio, and my BR600 will make sure that we are good to bbq all winter long. If it’s a battle to get the temps up, I got no issue bbqing in the garage with either set up!

The little ones are always at the bottom.Hunted for tiny pipe fittings. Ground the tabs off a rotted GFCI.

I vaguely remember a guy who used to start his bike from the other side using his left leg. It was like a freak show.lol Don’t remember why, maybe a bad knee.I haven't been able to kick-start my 74 XLCH Sportster for almost a year due to a right knee injury. Earlier today I drained 2 gallons of old high test fuel from its gas tank after which I drained and removed the S&S 'E' Carb. Tomorrow I'm heading out on the '74 FLH ElectraGlide for a long ride so I won't get back working on the Sportster until probably Monday. Thorough cleaning of the gas tank and carb are in order.![]()

I've used my left leg to kick start the Sportster while standing on the same right side of the bike before. However, I didn't want to risk my 69 year old 'a little better shape' knee while my right knee was healing. I'd rather limp a bit then need a walker or wheelchair to get around. If you've ever owned an early XLCH Sportster, then you've experienced a slipping kicker....OUCH!I vaguely remember a guy who used to start his bike from the other side using his left leg.
