Our current arrangement is that my brother is usually the buyer/seller and I assist in any way that I can (extra set of eyes, climbing around in dark attics, and carrying items to the truck). In return I get to keep items that fit my collection/garage. Here's what I brought home from the tractor mechanic's pick.

Phillips 66 can, Paint Thinner can, JD 2 Cycle, JD Paint, Mobile Upperlube, brake fluid cans, and Eagle Scan Can Oiler. I'll post more over at the Show Your Oiler Cans. Also a couple Barcalo Craftsman and John Deere wrenches.

Foxbilt Feeds flange sign, Tomco Bred Corn flange sign, Tomco Bred Corn masonite sign, Carlson license plate topper and old 40s Olds hubcap. The Tomco flange sign still had wax paper on it which some ruins signs after many decades. Found a couple signs like that and it dropped their value about 75%.

Doorman Freeze plug box with plugs which will go along nicely with my Doorman nuts and bolts display. Finally the Niehoff Tuneup cabinet. Haven't inventoried the contents but it will probably be where I store other NOS items that we stumble across.

Finally had time to clean up the Niehoff Tune Up cabinet. Here's what was inside, let me know if you need any of these things for some weird reason. The cabinet will go up on the wall and hold all NOS boxes in the future. I had no idea the torque wrench was in there, definitely a bonus.

Proto used the 6602 number (with dash numbers behind it) for a thread repair insert system. That leads to some confusion. The liked thread correctly applies to the hook spanner too.

As was inferred to before, yesterday I met up with BMW yesterday in his home town. We hit up the yearly swap meet at the fair grounds. It was quite cold but luckily there wasn't too much in the way of outside wares to view. My friend from work came as well and we hit up the booths the moment the doors opened. We are the old greasy tools kinda buyers so we side stepped the new tool vendors and went to the back to hunt rusty gold in the shadows.

We stepped in the door and commenced power picking. The crowd was filling the place up but I still managed to pull a few good items that tickled my fancy.

-super cool old orange wood cabinet/ tool storage? It almost looks like an old side table that someone converted? It has a cool galvanized metal top. Paid $30
- amazing set of Doorman parts cabinet drawers. Zip code shows #0 so it's pre '59. Its missing a drawer but I already have it on the way from ebay.
- bundled the doorman parts bins with the Proto MFD era 100hr carry box. super solid with a great logo...Paid $75 for the box and the bins.
-free speedmaster box and speed handle. Cant beat that price.
-80's era military web belt and plastic canteens. I dont collect this era but these are exactly like the ones I had as a kid so I bought them for my son.

-Pile of plomb. Alot of the sockets are not in great shape but they were $1 each
-2 tappet wrenches, 1/2 drive shallow and deep sockets . Grind off wrench that it appears to be plomb?
- early cape nose chisel with poor markings
-3/8 extension $1

-unused craftsman crown top plane still in box with instructions $10

- super cool mobil pegasus oil can $10

- minty Mopar piston skirt expander box with expanders still in it. Box is 30's/ 40's. It's so mint I had to check it out before I bought it because it looks like a repro its so nice. $20

-Cool Dinky toy for my sons collection. Dunlop labeled van $18

-misc proto
-proto la soft faced hammer $8
- betr grip scraper for $1
- 4 mfd era metrics! no been easy to find but I'm so stoked. Paid .50 each
- proto J series key chain screwdriver. It's labeled with advertisor info on both sides so no proto markings but it is unmistakably proto
-long proto la flat tip $2
-huge proto la 1252 wrench. yes I paid asking price. 1-7/16 size

**blackhawk porta power roll cart** it looks rough but is actually really solid. surface rusty and filthy but will clean up ok. I never see these for sale**

Craftsman-
-2 long c dbe's
- 25mm to fill a void in the wrench roll I bought last week $10
- free long c screwdriver
**weird drag link screwdriver extension** I havent seen this before ? Doesnt look home made....
-another long c dbe to go with the ones I found last week. I dont find these often and now all of a sudden I find them 2 in a row?

**super cool ww2 era photos. they are out of a book that was given out by Richfield oil company at the stations. Someone glued them into the book and the seller cut them out to make individual prints. I would have liked to buy the whole book but then again seller probably would have wanted an arm and leg. Had to pay $4 each.

-also got a ww1 dated canteen with cover and cup for $5

Like this sample!
The canteen, cup and cover are IMG_1780.jpeg
img_1781-jpeg.2222277
all dated 1918. Not super easy to find this day and age. Also here’s a picture of the more modern’64 and ‘66 Vietnam era canteens

I see the 1918 canteens fairly regularly still, but the cover and cup with the 1918 date are really rare.
I didnt know that at the time. I was walking by a table and saw it sitting there all lonesome and asked the seller how much. He said $5 and I said sold. For $5 with intact buttons and cup, I'm not walking away from it. I found a ww1 dated canteen a few weeks ago but the cover was missing the back loop. This is a nice example....Although it's a dirty example. But it will get washed and put on the shelf. I really want to find a porcelin canteen like you have and also the more uncommon Ethocel version. I've never seen one in person, only on line. One day I'll find one in all its yellowish, plastic glory

WOW Smoke, you really pulled it in after I took off. Good job, excellent show!
Thanks! I put a dent in things. The blackhawk port-a-power was in the big building towards the back. Did you see it by chance? It had a bunch of stuff piled on it and was behind some tables. Dudes didnt seem real motivated to sell it but my rusty gold eagle eye spotted it!

I won this Blackhawk 70R chest with contents for $125 at a local auction last Monday, and I picked it up Saturday. Lots of Snap On, Plomb, and Proto. Along with Stanley, Fuller, Vaco, Mayhew, and Xcelite drivers. A lot to list so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Lesser, in the fourth picture of your second set, what is the top tool with screw driver style handle? BTW-- a great haul, I would give a USuck.

Tom B.
I honestly thought it was a driver (made by Blackhawk) for knurled nuts before anyone else said anything. Come to think of it I think I have used one a few years ago.

Not many deal at the thrift store today (probably cause I got there around 1:45-2:00....all the deals, if any were long gone) but I found a few items....
20241119_170535.jpg

Pretty decent grabber tool for .99¢....this style works better because of the one fixed jaw, the ones where both jaws move are weak cause they fight each other and don't hold on to items very good....
20241119_170653.jpg

Two nice vinyl/rubber covered 8 lb. barbells to use in the shop as clamps when you can't get a traditional clamp on an item (what else would they be used for?? :dunno:  )....
20241119_170744.jpg

Lastly, a partial set of B&D drill bits....missing a few but seem to have some of the most popular sizes....
20241119_170836.jpg

All total $11.96 less 25% senior discount = $8.97
