A bit of a delayed update, but Saturday I finished up the wiring for the Hella 700FF lights on my Xterra

Sunday I dropped the DEF tank on my F250 and replaced the heater assembly, no more CEL!

Yesterday I replaced the flasher relay on the Xterra so that I have turn signals again. Was even able to swap the internals over to the OEM housing so I could reattach it in the factory spot behind the dash.

there are 1/4, 1/5 and 1/6 throttle tubes on stock bikes,as far as I know 06 till 09 r6 is the only one who had 1/6 throttle installed straight from the factory. With 1/4 tube you throttle twist from idle to wide open is around 85-90 degree or rotation (93 gsxr tube). With 1/6 tube it is 60 degrees from idle to wide open. Its much easier and faster to open the full throttle with 1/6 tube,plus you dont have to relocate your hand. Edit: wish i could get 1/8 aka 45 degree tube since 1/6 is still a lot of rotation for my liking so i would get a longer return cable and add 2 extra zip ties over the 1/6 tube.

If you mean strength, It depends on how you drive... people have destroyed these things on stock tires.

There are alot of people running 35's in the rocks without issues. I'm not too crazy in the rocks so I think I'll be fine.

If you mean will it be able to get out of it's own way, yes. They are still pretty fast, you just use low range a bit more.
I'm keeping my 30" desert tires and paddles for most things because I like the low end punch from the smaller tires.

I cut up trunk floor material and installed it months ago. But I never got around to making some parts (hinge covers) to finish up the details I wanted. I used my CAD* program to figure out the shapes I would need to fit. I had some extra lexan laying around so I traced the pattern on the lexan and formed it over a pipe with a heat gun. Spray glued the material and installed on both sides of the trunk

I have spent to many hours working on the headlight for the baja. Typical beetle headlight assemblies use a metal hook welded onto the top of the fender and a screw on the bottom, to hold the headlight trim ring. The baja fiberglass fender mounting location is not straight up down or side to side. When checking the angle is about 10 degrees. This means I gotta be able to adjust the headlights using the spring/screw arrangement.

I purchase several headlight buckets and most are cheap plastic, the EMPI VW ones are plain junk.

I purchased a metal assembly intended for a motorcycle and have been working thru how to mount. No pair of holes or features are in a relationship to the other. I have sketched and measured all of the features, drawn them several times, printed and adjusted and am now closing in to a final, but the realization is these will never be watertight, do to maintaining the ability to be aimed.

3d printing them in pla for now will go to petg when I have the final.

The fender shown is just a template as a new fender has been installed on the project.

Edit: Be sure to support your off cuts if they are very long. I have seen them move/drop at the end of a cut and bend the blade.

Is that adjusting the infeed/outfeed angle, or height? I get snipe about half the time, but only have a 13" benchtop planer and am not sure how much improvement I could get out of it.

Yesterday.. Finally got all the parts in to continue the mini restoration of my Sliverado. Upper and lower control arms with ball joints, strut, wheel bearings and brake pads. Turmed this: Into this: Now to find the time to do the other side.

Went out to the shop to grab some items that sold, had an ADHD moment and fixed the CCTV camera that is inside my compressor shed that hasn't been working for about a month. Replaced the power supply, that lit the camera back up, but there was still no signal to the DVR. The BNC to RCA adapter had some corrosion on it. Took it off, cleaned it up, and now it's back online. Ok, now what did I come out here to do?

So I'm not the only one using CCTV cameras. Seems most everybody has gone to wifi stuff these days.

Apparently I should not have touched anything on the back of the rack. The rack switch is now locked up and failing to turn back on. I ran the 25' cable directly to the one server in the rack that I really need access to. I'll figure out what to do about everything else this weekend.

Not sure what would cause the little switch to suddenly die. Wondering if there was dust in it and me jostling it caused something to short or something.

I have an air filter in front of the servers to keep dust out of them, but nothing really on the back of the rack for the stuff back there. I should probably do something about that while I'm doing other maintenance this weekend.

Not much in the garage today... Too cold... But I managed to make some domed rivet heads,,,

I received a length of 3/16" dia. 1/2 hard 360 brass rod I'd ordered from McMaster, to make a pivot shaft for the trunnon stop on my 12" Delta disc sander... I had to destroy the original piece so I could take it apart for nickel plating...

Made a couple of doming dies using 3/8" hex bolts... Used a 1/4" ball end mill to create the depression to round over the 3/16" brass rod ends...

Height and angle both. The tables need to be level with the plate, and at the same height so there is no "bump" when the workpiece transitions.

A little warmer today. I had to swap out a couple of empty 20 lb. tanks for the propane heater at Lowes, then fired it up and turned a blower on low speed and pointed it at the rafters to circulate the warm air back down. That raised the temp to 57 deg F so I was able to stay a little longer. I bead blasted a set of coil springs, front spindles, sway bar brackets, and bumper brackets for the Mustang. I also put the mower battery on the charger and charged it on the 2 amp setting while I was out there. Hoping it will be warm enough here to paint suspension parts on Saturday.

Nothing - Worked late cause a customer had a breach and were implying we were the cause - Nope!

yesterday I did replace a motion detecting switch in the garage that was strobing the LED shop lights and sprayed the yards front and back for weeds.... Step one in getting the yards back under control before I retire and really attack them.

I feel your pain. Yesterday was 2 months since we lost our Jewels. We're finally past the spontaneous tear-shedding - I think.

She's the background on my phone and my PC so I see her constantly.
