K7Well, the lead came thru. Just grabbed this for super cheap. Was his grandfather's. Better pics to come, but wanted to see many can guess it from the one truck bed pic.

Nope, sorry. Guessing 3bay didn't want to spoil it, but Mintgrun (in the Vintage toolbox thread) correctly IDed it first.
That one is rough enough that even our mutual craftsman fan friend wont attempt that rescueVery nice. I didn't think it was the Snappy, as the drawer orientation was wrong, but figured what the heck. There is one of those sitting on marketplace near me, but with a bad paintjob, and I am not enough of a C-man fan to try and bring it back.
Nope, just a generic. Looks like a Japanese vise that was mass produced under a couple of different names.Any ID on the little vise?
Mike
we were at a Goodwill shortly after it opened and they rolled out a cart with various stuff on it and I noticed the tools, which I never see there. $21 and change
Walking Ghost today and a curbside find was a Klein Bag stick out of the trash container at the curb. Inside was a Dewalt Impact 20v, Milwaukee bit set, Ryobi drill and battery(not pictured) and a unmarked ballpeen hammer. The Dewalt battery charged fine ,haven't went downstairs to check the Ryobi yet but lights on charger were positive.

Otts and sots.
I just paid $30 (sellers asking price) for two boxes (one SAE and the other metric) filled to the brim with vintage wrenches.
Whole bunch of randoms for 5 bucks.

Craftsman Heritage Hand Tool Cart
From what I can find, looks like it was offered from Fall/Winter 1948 thru Fall/Winter 1949. Doesn't appear in the 1948 Hand Tool Catalog, and price dropped each catalog (down to 13.50 in F/W 1949) before it disappeared. No drawer slides to speak of, and the locking mechanism is simply a U shaped piece that slides into cutouts on the side. I have seen one other in 11yrs, and kick myself for passing on it. Looking back, think it has been painted, as it was closer to the hammered silver of the later toolboxes (this is the same dark blue/gray as others from the era).
Picked up for the princely sum of $40 (and a 1.5hr drive each way). Now I just need to find the matching top box...

Sometimes patience and a long drive is worth the quirky sellers.

I feel your pain. Last fall I made arrangements, via FBM, to purchase a nice landscape trailer that was about 45 minutes away. We messaged back and forth and agreed to meet at 930am the following day. I messaged the seller when I was 15 minutes away only to have him say "hold off, someone else will he here shorty". Not wanting to get into a debate via text, I just continued to the location only to find the trailer being hooked up to the other guys truck. The seller claimed he got confused as to who he was texting with and had just made the deal 5 minutes before I arrived. I was less than pleased but had little recourse. I know FBM sales don't always go smoothly and sellers sometimes get overwhelmed with responses & 'no-shows', but this one stung a little since I missed out by literally 5 minutes. Turns out the buyer that beat me was a 'flipper' and relisted the trailer a week later for $750 more. It sat on Facebook marketplace through December and then disappeared, maybe it will reappear this spring. If it does, I will offer $100 less than what he bought it for.And sometimes not like the time I drove 6+ hours roundtrip spending $70 in gas and oil (buddy's truck didn't even have oil on the dipstick and glad I checked first) to buy a 70's Craftsman Commercial series toolbox for $300 (top and bottom in beautiful condition) only to find out the seller sold it to someone local the very moment I arrived. In fact I arrived first but the other guy had messaged first but the seller thought the first guy was going to be a no show. The seller knew I was on my way as well and seemed to respond promptly. I guess my big takeaway here is to exchange phone numbers and explain that you are coming from a distance since some sellers do not think a message on Facebook or wherever is binding. In hindsight had I arrived an hour sooner I would have had that box but I don't know if I would have been able to actually load it myself due to the size and weight.

I will never forget the time that happened to me. I got there just as the other guy was writing a $1500 check to pay for a ‘69 Mustang Mach 1 in decent looking and running condition. The seller claimed he got confused as to who he was texting with and had just made the deal 5 minutes before I arrived. I was less than pleased but had little recourse.
$21 and change.
Miller Falls 61A spiral ratchet driver.
Picked this up this week for $9.00
Today's Saturday run started with the HS Flea.
I do NOT need another box of Craftsman Sockets and other mixed tools...
But I'm a sucker for tools at the right price, $15.

Nice scores, gentlemen!!This stuff was listed at a buck a piece or $75 for all. Initially intended just to grab some of the big combo wrenches and a few Snap on bits I saw in the pics but when I got there and started picking through the 3 loaded drawers it took about 20 sec for me to buy all of it.![]()

Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you--but sometimes you just have to stand back and laugh in the bear's face.
Today's professional estate sale had these interesting tools displayed right next to the hawk-eyed cashier and closer to her than the pilferable jewelry.
While the individual prices are, to me, laughable in and of themselves, I point your attention to two in particular.
First, the OK Cutter handle. I found the separately priced cutters scattered among the other offerings and when I pointed out that they all went together and were individually useless, she said, "Oh. Okay. Well, I can just add them all together for you." Thanks. No.
The best, i.e., worst, one was the Klein cutters--with both cutters sheared off. Only $10!
Honorable mention goes to the vintage Miracle-Ear Audiotone Pro 2 hearing aids (not pictured)--$250--waxy patina--gratis.
I won't be going back for half-price day.

"Hmm. Okay. Does that mean you'll subtract $8 off the price of the $16 pipe wrench that only has half its handle?""Oh. Okay. Well, I can just add them all together for you."
($50): 20 pc SK set; 12 pc. SK set; 1964 Craftsman 1/3hp block grinder (297.19580); Scrap copper.
Quench tray, shields light , great shape ...and the SK ......You really ****.Estate sale ($50): 20 pc SK set; 12 pc. SK set; 1964 Craftsman 1/3hp block grinder (297.19580); Scrap copper.
Got skunked at my regular estate sale, but got in on the 1st round of the second. Picked up exactly what I scoped out earlier from the pics and found nothing else. Always nice to find block grinders w/ all the accessories. Saw a neat .22 lever action Marlin Golden Mountie, but they wanted $800 for it. Might go back and see if it's still there at 50% off.
No bet, Beemer.Five will get you ten that most of them will be sold by half-price day.
"Are you nuts? It's an antique and perfectly usable (as a club) and that's what they go for on ebay!""Hmm. Okay. Does that mean you'll subtract $8 off the price of the $16 pipe wrench that only has half its handle?"![]()
Another You **** for @ctuai!Estate sale ($50): 20 pc SK set; 12 pc. SK set; 1964 Craftsman 1/3hp block grinder (297.19580); Scrap copper.
Not even for the laugh?I won't be going back for half-price day.
But think of the $hipping you $ave!Ah yes, the "look this up on Eprey BIN, and price accordingly" pricing method!
I guess it’s a regional thing. Scarcity.Five will get you ten that most of them will be sold by half-price day.
Regional + supply and demand for sure. My philosophy is if you want eprey prices, sell on eprey, if you want to get it sold recognize the difference between buyers numbering in the hundred's vs. in the millions, and no regional issues... Finding that "one deep pocket buyer" is highly unlikely locally with walk through customers.I guess it’s a regional thing. Scarcity.
