Installed some Ciro Bag Filler light on the '15 limited. Im usually not a fan of extra, or add on lights, these are more for safety. I communte in the dark sometimes, and they dont look terrible....

and when not on:

the middle has an amber "plasma rod" for turn signals, as they are run , brake , and turn indicators.
Did the same for my 21 Ultra Limited; one thing you can’t avoid is getting hit in the rear by some distracted driver. This really brightens things up.

I saw your photos and then had to Google if bike stands were a thing! I can't believe I never knew these existed!!! Going to make spring bike "dewintering" so much easier!
I love this stand.(feedback sports) I had an old Park stand, it was awesome, but even folded up it was big. This folds down and has a bag that it fits in for transport or storage.
I used to do a bunch of bike repair events for kids and it's nice to be able to clamp the bike in the stand and work on it at standing height and not bent over on the ground.

Not as creative or sophisticated as some of you, but I did replace the air and cabin air filters and the wiper blades on my son's 2010 Impala. Bought it as a high school car back in 2018 and I never expected it to last long, but he's managed to keep it going. The wiper blades were installed in 2019, so his standards may be kinda low.

How's that GJ distractions working out for you?
Y’all are bad influences 😂

We’re making progress !!

Thought I was going to have to push on this one with the skiddy to get it loose. We wedged it under the disc and I bounced my fatass on the end of an 8’ pipe and it finally made that “okay I’m loosening” creak and I knew it gave up !!

Finally installed a set of headlights I’ve had since before Christmas. Was too cold.

IMG_4955.jpeg

Then a little side project that I’ve been meaning to do for, oh, about 15 years!!
Rebuilt an old pellet gun I’ve had since I was around 10. Maybe younger.
It would leak CO2 badly so I never used it. Took it all apart and replaced a couple seals. Kinda scabbed it together. I will get a proper total rebuild kit and redo my half assed job!
It was fun to shoot it again. Pretty useless other than just for the sake of shooting. Kids think it’s cool!

A while back, I mixed up 4 gallons of GJ DIY de-ruster solution... This stuff works great...
I have a rusted, non working vintage 1938ish 3 jaw chuck that was part of my Atlas 612 lathe haul, I picked up at an estate auction...
It was rusty and crusty and didn't want to open...
I put in a hot water solution with HF degreaser and submersed it in my heated ultrasonic tank... Ran it for 60 minutes...
It did a great job of cleaning off the old 85+ YO lube that had petrified the working innards of the chuck...
I was finally able to split the chuck and pull out all the innards... Still had a mess of gunk inside with metal chips...
Back in the ultrasonic tank for another 60 minutes... The degreaser was a pool of black goo...

Washed the parts with water and into a plastic bucket with some of that GJ DIY rust dissolver solution...
The chuck and parts sat in the solution for 2 hours...
I rinsed them off with warm water...
No wire wheel brushing, just dried with a towel and spritzed with alcohol to prevent flash rusting...

Well, the grass is starting to grow,......so I pulled the mower in to do an oil change, blow out the air filter, pull the deck and lube the bearings, lube the front end and steering shaft, lube the control pivots, sharpen blades, and put it back together. I bought a meter for this thing when we first bought it. It now has 478 hours and has been started up 3045 times! Still runs like a champ! Then I changed the oil in the tow pig, cleaned ALMOST all the brake crud off the front wheels, and detailed the engine compartment. That's an '04 model with 168,000 miles on it!

Quite a bit today.

First, I announced the winner for this sign I cut out as I had posted a thread for a drawing on another forum so packaged that up earlier.

20250315_111404.jpg

Along with cutting a ton of parts this afternoon, and finally welding up the capture nut for my DIY stool.

Had 5 different orders come in just in the last 2 days.

My daughter asked me to clean up her Keen Kutter buttonhole scissors....
So out into the garage they went for a little cleanup... No manual cleaning required...
30 minute Spa treatment in the HF + hot water in the ultrasonic tank...
2 hours in the GJ DIY rust remover.... This stuff is great...

It's somewhere on GJ... I'll see if I can find it again...
Here is my mix... I upped the recipe to 4 gallons...

1 liter distilled water
100 grams washing soda
100 grams citric acid powder
Squirt or two of Dawn dish soap...
Note: I dry mixed the citric acid and washing soda as a powder and then added the distilled water slowly... Volcanic action may occur...

Got out to the shop after noon coffee w/ the inlaws. They come over almost every Sunday for coffee and chat. Took the angle grinder wire wheel to the mower deck and through on few coats of paint. Will see if that help with grass debris. Greased mower zerks, set tire pressures, checked spark plug, and cleaned push mower air filter. Tomorrow I will get blades installed and the deck remounted. Will clean up the push mower deck and swap out the blade and check the spark plug. It isnt due for an oil change yet, I do it every other year on that machine.
Looks great, I did the same to mine, except used a wet sand blaster attachment for my pressure washer. Did it in the middle of the back yard for easier sand clean up. Worked great for a $20 amazon impulse buy.
Rusty metal primer and aluminum paint, all I had handy.

@kaymccampbell the source link has the original YouTube for this stuff - I've made 2 batches, and agree its great.

The Vid posts what seems backwards to how to mix it? My second batch I made it in the "right" order and made a foam mess.

A large flat container for mixing the base and acid is best so you don't make a foam cannon.

I used this DeRusto solution in my USC when possible

I can only imagine the pain with every step. I've had gout in my foot before. . . .

My dad had gout and that was horrific, the only saving grace with this has been I can get relief by not moving it at all, and now I have painkillers, I don't usually like taking painkillers, but in this case, I sure am taking them!

I've had 2 bouts in the last 4-5 year of gout. Dr/ gave me meds to take it down but since the last on I drink about 8 oz. of diluted Tart Cherry Juice daily - I switched from PM to AM as it has a natural chemical that gives weird dreams, - Also has Melatonin, so there is that to contend with. I dilute it by about 1/3 as it has an extremely strong flavor. I doubt I will ever come to like it, but I can tolerate it.

Installed the deck on the riding mower. RR blade on push mower, cleaned the deck-it is on its last leg, I may get the season out of it and maybe next year. Checked the spark plug, oil and installed the air filter. Sharpened Craftsman chainsaw. Filled bar oil and fuel on Craftsman & 032 saws. Hauled pancake compressor and assorted tools out to the broken fence, returned them, put some away. Left enough room for the Miata. Enjoyed a beer. It was a long, productive day. Supposed to have a good chance for large hail tomorrow night. Will move Miata to the shop, and park my car in the garage tomorrow after work.

Sign me up for the weird dreams. Can't be any more off than what I already run with.

As a result of being sidelined and sitting around staring out the window at all the stuff that needs to be done, I observed a new addition to the wildlife scene on our property.

We have named him Hootie.

It is a red morph screech owl, supposedly mostly nocturnal by nature, it has been sitting in the sun for a couple of days in a hole in a shagbark hickory tree, sometimes it leaves and comes back.

I know way too many useless internet facts about owls now. 😂
