First: falling behind, but a "YOU ****" to >checks notes< @Squez , @d42jeep , @Mr. Wonderful , @Skellyii , @3baygarage , and @3jakes .

Second: the local tool library (bless 'em) had their first garage sale today! I limited myself to the $2 table (where I got a tiny discount) and the free stuff, and got out of there with only $36 spent.

In the free category:

A Ramset toolbox, a set of Stanley Yankee screwdriver bits (made in West Germany, which is not remarkable but which seemed neat), six glass cutters (three Red Devils, a Hoppe, a Richard, and a Fletcher), a toggle clamp still in the bag (I guess that makes it NOS?), and a bench hold-down.
Ramset-toolbox.jpg

free-table-01.jpg

(The pliers in the bottom right corner were actually from the $2 pile.)

In the $2 category:

Above, the flat-nose pliers with a cutter, stamped BLOSTA on the pivot and FOREIGN on one of the arms.

Pliers, left to right and top to bottom,
  • W&B Co (Made In Canada) slipjoint
  • ETF slipjoint
  • Hoppe slipjoint (are you sensing a 🍁 pattern 😏 )
  • combination pliers that need some derusting before I have any idea
  • skinny little needlenose pliers with a hole near the tips; stamp reads something like CYMMIONS
  • J.P. Danielson Co. slipjoint
  • Indestro slipjoint, very tiny (is there a different word for the angled slipjoints?)
  • Snap-On slipjoint
  • Utica 50-6 linesman
Plus two little folding spark plug gap tools; the one with the metal strip and scrubby cleaner is marked HARDY.

And more generally: a Cluthe nail-set, a Gray four-way lug wrench, three corner clamps, a drill index from the Century Twist Drill Works (I will look up the patent number later), two half-full packs of aniline dye, and an augur with two adjustable cutters (one of which seems pretty dull).

2-dollar-pliers.jpg
2-dollar-assort.jpg

...and a box wrench from the free table that I forgot to take a picture of until right now. The stamps on it make no sense; that's says 7/16, but I think it's been stamped over a 6, which would make that thing metric. I'll deal with it later.

I’m Per yesterday’s convo on inventory, my on-phone Bonney list is usually complete and accurate….

Still, I don’t always LOOK at my lists when I’m out shopping, so…IMG_5252.jpeg
(I was actually looking for a good copy of Irish Red, LOL.)
EDIT - Hell, that isn’t even true (I have one): I was looking for Outlaw Red!

@LesserSon here are 2 of my 3…had them (& LOVED them) since I was a kid, and I’m suddenly unhappy that I don’t know where my copy of “Big Red” is. That was the first time I read a whole trilogy.

Came across this Williams chain wrench in suburbia.
Old fella didn't know why he had it.
Condition was so nice, I paid his $5. price with no haggling.
The CW-4 is common. but have never seen this one stamped on handle "Special" & the chain measures 34" pin to pin.
What that large could be turned with an 11" wrench"?

Finally got some older tools. The ratchets work and should clean up nice. The sockets are mostly Craftsman u, older sk, and a few snap on z. $24 for everything. Any idea what the weird double end ratchet is for.

Another Panavise, Stork Detroit magnet, Proto puller (it was a rental at some point), two 3M sanding blocks, spark plug boot pliers, finger tool, grease gun coupler $13.

How many Panavises does it take to go from Panavise owner to Panavise hoarder? This will make it 4 1/2.IMG_5014.jpegIMG_5015.jpeg

There are a half-dozen T-shaped torque wrenches claimed to be aircraft tools that have that thick-bodied look and with that manufacturer on eBay. Maybe one of our aircraft mechanic threadizens can ID it.
I see nothing with that P/N. It seems with the on/off ends to be non-reversing ratchets, so a flip-flop rtchet. I wonder if it isn’t really for regular sockets, but maybe for a security panel or adjusting some other mechanism with a recess like a drain plug.

Go into Google Books, found some there. As LS noted, lots of torque tools, in aircraft and electronics magazines. They moved a bit, so adding Alhambra can pin it down a bit more.

Adding in RCA or the part number didn't help much.

I would not be surprised to find out each end is one way only, the On a torque limit device, the Off maybe not.

I found this Coleman quicklite lamp. I usually buy the lanterns but I took a chance on it for $20. If anyone has any info on these I’d love to know about it. No visible date stamp.
The lamp appears to be a Coleman CQ--but I can't be certain with the shade on. The lamp is probably the most common gasoline (white gas) table lamp in the US--but still well worth $20 in that shape.

The shade appears original--in which case, the shade alone is worth several times what you paid.

There should be a date stamping below and either side of the Quicklite symbol on the fount side below the filler cap. Let us know what it says.

Parts are still available, NOS and/or repro. Colemanparts.com is a good place to start.

Radio Corporation of America? Makes sense for electronics.

Thanks for the info! I found the Coleman logo on the fount. No sign of any date stamps though.

Yep, model CQ, w/Q99 generator. Note that this is a Quicklite, requiring preheating the generator before lighting.

The lack of a date stamp puts it pre-May 1924. The CQ was first produced in '17, making it among the first with the Coleman branding.

Nice find!

Now you need to find the pump for it....

49846706028_80544a4992_o.jpg

That's technically a pump for a Coleman iron. The real lamp pump is about twice as long. Plain brass or nickel-plate--I plated that one.

You can always jury-rig a bicycle pump to work. I've used a gob of electrician's tape on a filler tip for sports balls. Pressure should not exceed 30 psi.

Went camping staring on on Thursday so catching up:

I assume that the Deco is 9/32” drive. My first one was and my second one was ground down in a poorly done effort to make it 1/4” drive.

And, Yes, @d42jeep it is 9/32", and my third so far.
Yep, all my 3 of my Decos are 9/32 stubbies.

What thinks ye about this vise? Another LEFT-BEHIND from yesterday. The black and orange scheme was tugging on my Bonney vibes, but it's not marked, and some of the features were off.
LS got you covered, with balck ond orange I'd geuss sweethart erea

@Private Lugnutz That table vise is a Staney 74x, and I know you know why it looks Bonney-ish. It may be stamped topside towards the back of the slide. I haven’t delved into dating by color, but they did use that color scheme at some point - probably 1930-40ish. There also might be a patent notice on the oblong pad of the table clamp, after the 1908 US0877695 for the overall design.

Aha. Thanks, LS.

Indestro slipjoint, very tiny (is there a different word for the angled slipjoints?)
Bottom row, second from the left? ignition pliers.

How many Panavises does it take to go from Panavise owner to Panavise hoarder? This will make it 4 1/2.

More than that! I have 5 and all different.

Suckage to the following:

Estate sale ($50): Cleaners; Simpson 260 series 6 multimeter; Sony SLV-D550P VCR - DVD recorder w/remote; Delta hand crank scroll saw; Justrite Streamlined carbide lamp; Snap on 71-M ratchet; Lennox Gold box cutter; Starrett No. 425-3" pocket slide caliper; Amp Meter; Colonial anvil bone scaled 2-blade pocket knife; Shelton tools multi-head screwdriver; Lumber crayon; Rags; Birdbath heater; 3lbs of scrap copper; Ohio 18" jumbo thermometer.

Lot's of fun stuff this week. The Delta hand crank scroll saw is... well, hand crank, which is thumbs up in my books. I'm looking forward to getting the carbide lamp going. I'll post pics of it working. I really like the font on the jumbo thermometer. It looks like something you'd have in a cartoon car. Been looking for a Simpson multimeter so it's nice to find one.

While running around at our local Flea Markets, I've decided to only buy stuff that I need or that I can use.
No More **** that I have extras of, or stuff that I have plenty of!

So at the Flea Market, I was good...well for a minute or two anyway :ROFLMAO:
Bought a couple of Hammer Handles......can always use those....
One pound of Wood Putty.....always need wood putty!
Bought a bundle of paint brushes from a cute Hippie Girl... :ROFLMAO: ..I always need paint brushes....

Then things went south on me....
Three Jacobs USA chucks in really nice condition.....I have no drills to put them on, but What-the-Heck?
Very cool old Bolt cutters.....I have two already
Another folding wood rule....dang, what's wrong with me? I just couldn't pass it up
Chain breaker or Link poker-outer....I already have one somewhere
And a Stanley 765.....I really need one with a base

Anyway, it was a fun day which is what it's all about

I’ve had these motors for a little while, picked them up at an estate cleanout several months ago. I don’t have any use for them, but I couldn’t see them go to a dumpster.

Both are Firestone, and neither one is locked up. I haven’t tried to start either one of them, but I don’t think it would take much.

The smaller one will likely go to my antique booth and the larger one FB Marketplace.

$10 garage sale haul.Never seen the Mac no guarantee. Also never seen the Chrysler marked ratchet.
The Chrysler ratchet (part of a set with sockets) was a premium awarded to dealership mechanics who attended some training. It may retain a bit of yellowish lacquer tint, but despite eBay listing details, it’s not gold-plated. That 1/2dr(?) is an A-702K, which debuted with a three-stem thumb switch (a la Mercedes Benz icon) c1967. Yours probably dates c1977-1986, likely manufactured in Orangeburg SC, when Utica Bonney Herbrand were all under Triangle.

Here’s the 1968 Rozmus patent.

A former coworker who was also a Chrysler parts guy participated. Not sure if he snuck in or what.
