I saw that link to Graigners and decided to sleep on it. It is too good to be true, so I'm sure it is a mistake. The cost of building it is much higher I'm sure.
Therefore, rather than getting my credit card messed up for a while I'm going to sit that one out.

Steve,
Did you see my post above?
A lady from my local Grainger called after I placed the order and said it would be available for pickup on the 21st. They have not billed my CC yet though. I will keep you posted.
Do you think it's a reconditioned one? Looks like the price is too good for brand new. However I wish it's not.
steve, look a little closer.
the one on sale Miller 180 is a discontinued model, mfr's part# 951374. note it is withOUT "Autoset". it is no longer listed on Miller's website.
the current Miller model is "180 with Autoset", part# 907312,

I just bought the same welder a month ago at Cyberweld for around $849 without the running gear.
This Grainger deal is awesome.
So is this a great deal on the Miller 140 because I only have 115v?
Grainger for $332.38, while Amazon is $830

Or should I get Hobart 125 for $319
Man that's an amazing deal on the 140 too! This can't be a mistake on both machines.
The only thing that worries me about the 180 is it doesn't say it comes with the MIG gun and ground clamp/cable.

What is the deal with Grainger? I bought something from one of the stores about a month ago. The guy ringing me up asked me for my company’s name. I didn't think much of it until he told me they are a business to business shop. Does this get back to my company somehow? Thinking I will jump on the Miller 180 deal if there is no real problem. I just don't want to get in hot water later on.
They just told me the same thing. You have to have some kind of account, even if it is personal account. They said they do sell to the public but they are mostly b2b.
BTW I just bought the Miller 140 from them for $332, they said it would take 5-8 business days to get delievered
Just called and ordered the 180. No shipping charges either. T100, thanks for the heads up on the Miller. I went ahead and pulled the trigger but am still skeptical that the pricing "mistake" might actually be on Miller's part not Graingers' part. The item ships from Miller.
So I will get mine in a week or so unless they decide there is a mistake in price.
Thanks again,
Steve
Did you call or do it over the web? Did you set up a personal account?
No shipping charges either.
I'll report back if I get it or if it gets canceled.
How did you avoid the shipping charges?
Man, I've been wanting a mig welder for a while, for very very occassional use, although I'll probably find more uses once I get it. I could never justify the cost though. On the one hand this deal seems like it's the perfect chance to get one, on the other, even for $400 I just might not use it enough. Ahhh, decisions. Is this a very very rare deal, or do similar deals on good welders pop up from time to time?
