eBay

I was just trying to find out the other guy's max bid! I had no intention of winning; nor did I want to! I'm totally screwed; now I can't buy the new pair of jeans I've been needing. Doesn't anyone bid on Sunday morning?!?

:willy_nil :willy_nil :willy_nil :willy_nil

PS. I don't even have a part number!

I'm still trying to understand how you could bid and not realize it......You have to confirm the bid once you place it, so there is time to stop... :headscrat

According to the bid history you bid at least 3 times, how do you call that an accident?
Just **** it up and pay. You got a good deal if you don't get ripped off on the shipping.

I knew I was bidding, but I've been losing auctions all week left and right; I was sure I'd lose this one too. I gave the rest of the guys over 8 hours to out bid me; what the hell happened?

You should know that Saturday night and Sunday afternoon are some of the best times for getting deals on Ebay. Most people generally have other things to do besides sit in front of a computer and wait for the item to end.

Enjoy your F830!!! That's what you get for trolling on Ebay. I don't bid on anything where the seller misrepresents its value in the listing. There's no way that ratchet ever sold for $129. I think you should mount the ratchet above your computer monitor when you get it and reflect on your purchase when browsing Ebay or posting here.

Hi Fedwrench!

Yeah I know the price they were claiming as list was way over the actual list price; I don't know where they got that figure from. :dunno:

I don't like when the seller says the item costs alot more than it lists for, I think that says they are dishonest and will possibly give you problems. I realize some people may make a mistake but its not hard to figure out the retail price when the part # is on the tool. Don't feel bad Merkava, I just spent $270 on ebay today.:bounce: I think I need to quit buying tools but there is always stuff that I want to make the job easier or diagnostic equipment,

Maybe you should just feel good for yourself as you helped that seller double what he would hav gotten without your bids.

Or maybe you scared off any competition since your user name is a Snap-on wrench part number.

Maybe everybody here should be scared as your username here is a tank.

Or maybe you could brag about how many posts you've made. Like you do here.

It looks like you're pretty new to the money pit of Ebay. So you made a newbie error, consider yourself lucky you got off so easy. On Ebay fortunes have been lost, marriages torn asunder, careers shattered, friendships ruined, lives destroyed. You'll survive.

Before your next auction sure to read up on bidding basics and strategy. And check out sniping.

I got found out! :D

Yeah, Mr. Schoendorff has been keeping close track of my forum activity. :bounce:

Sounds as though you need to get a life... Or maybe a wife... :lol_hitti

Since when do Snap On ratchets come with tags??? Never seen any tags on any of teh ratchets on the truck....

I've have some that I bought a few years ago that have tags on them. I believe that the dealers just pull the tags off to keep the tags off the floor.

This one has tags ... did you see the photo on ebay .... I have never gotten any tags whether I bought off the truck or via internet ...

I know, I have only seen the tags on some ebay ratchets. I have never gotten a tag on any new ratchet that I got from ebay or the truck!

Are you sure you won? You placed a bid with over 8 hours to go before the auction ended. I thought it was not possible to win an auction without sniper bidding in the last few seconds? (said with tongue in cheek for those with no sense of humor)

I stayed awake until around 6:00AM in the morning hoping someone would come along and outbid me; it never happened! I was absolutely flabbergasted as to why no one bid; after all, the retail price was supposed to be $129.00.

I'm convinced now that if I ever want to win another auction, I'll check the calendar first to see if it's ending in the wee hours of Sunday morning. :D

The whole point is, You should be bidding to win a item. It sounds like you are just bidding and running up the price on someone with no intention on winning a item. If you want to win a item then I would make sure it ended Sunday morning.:thumbup:

No not really. I suspected the other guy had a max bid of somewhere in the $60.00 range; so I was absolutely shocked to find out I was in the lead. :eek2:
