I agree; I bought my 43 piece RP set, new, from Sears, for $3.25 per wrench, sizes up to 32mm and 1-5/16". Incredible deal.

I find them very comfortable in my hand too. In their price range, and even somewhat beyond, Craftsman wrenches are hard to beat.

They're thicker than a snap-on and won't fit into some spaces to get on a bolt head though. Otherwise great wrenches. They're in my jeep tool roll.

Can you still get them for that???

But how often has this happened??? I cannot remember when the last time I needed a thinner wrench.

I like them as well, though $5 per is about double what I like to pay, even for the larger wrench sizes. Maybe when they get above 2"...

I don't know; it retails for $199.99 but typically goes on sale for $179.99, I bought when it was $179.99 plus 15% off and another $10 off w/ coupon codes. I bought them back in Feb or March IIRC. So I guess it was $143 for the 43 piece set which equals $3.32.

It was such a good deal I was thinking of buying more and parting them out on eBay or something.

I'm just the opposite. I think the RP Crafstman wrench is the most un-comfortable (down right painfull) tool that I've ever put into my hand.

Are you holding it correctly?

I'm guessing that if the wrench is thicker, it will create a higher pressure point? do you agree or disagree?

Not that I'm bragging or anything but if you wait for the stars to align you can find some great deals used. Here's a link to my big score this spring. They were brand new condition except one wrench that looked like it fell off a truck, it had bad scratches across it. There were a couple missing pieces but then there were some extras too.

...Tony Paco's Hot Dogs. But Rudy's are better...

You must not be a Hunky!

I lived at Eastgate & Heatherdowns for 10 years and drove down the street to the Rudy's at Eastgate & Glendale a few times. Good dogs, but I kinda liked Coney Island Hot Dogs when I worked for OCF downtown.

Captain Creole's was the best food downtown in the early '90's though.

Chicago area flea markets used to have sellers that simply bought sets on sale at the main Sears outlet store and piece them out. Per item price was OK and they made a profit. Win-win.

oh. where do i get that coupon ?

Yes - stamped "Forged in USA". Type "Sears2011" into the coupon box for another $5 off. It should ring up now as around $153 before tax, does it? Then take another $5 off and you get around $148.**.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer but I scored mine already in big kit form on the used market.

The loonie is hanging a bit higher but when I purchase in us funds you basically have to buy us dollars from your canadian dollars and you have to pay the bank for that. I recently bought 2 lots at $100.00 each usd and although the loonie was around $1.02 us at the time I was charged $101.56 US on my paypal account. The bank always wins.

That *****! I remember 6 years ago, when I would travel to Canada, every time I would eat out it was a 20% discount due to the strong dollar. Not anymore...

6 point sockets are great but in a wrench you loose a lot of turning angle whenever the fastener is in a tight spot. 6 point wrenches just aren't very practical to own.

Really? Maybe for you, but for me, the 12pt will strips fasteners on what I work on, and I'd like to have 2 sets anyway so I will at least have 2 wrenches in same size to hold either side of the bolt & nut which is common for me.
