The shipping weight is listed as 86 pounds. It will be interesting to see how they handle this. I printed the order form that clearly states they sold me a Wilton 11800 for $99.99.

Hm, weird...when I looked at it, it listed the shipping weight at 16 ounces, which is why I thought it was a bit strange.

Showing up for me like this on the page:

Item Dimensions
Weight: 16 Ounces
Length: 16 inches
Width: 10 inches
Height: 10 inches

Damn, the shears deal made slick deals. Any chance of getting them is probably over now that hundreds more orders will be coming in. Those of you who got them while they were in stock may have a prayer though.

How have you determined this?

Email from amazon

Thank you for your inquiry. Upon research to your question, we have discovered a listing error on Amazon. While this product was listed as a Wilton 11800/648HD Utility Workshop Vise, it should have been listed as Wilton 12800 Drill Press Vise 2-1/2 Jaw Width, 1-1/2 Depth. We truly apologize for the miscommunication.

Same... I will have to post a pic when I get my Knipex goodies in the mail :)

Oh and that 5 piece Kobalt set looks pretty tempting at $10. I might get a pack or two. Its one of those sets that I wouldn't mind leaving with a 'helper' or day laborer at a job site if I had to leave for whatever reason - something I would never want to do with my 'high-end' tools.

Why in god's creation would you think sending an email to point out a mistake was a good idea? That is the 2nd time in the last couple weeks that some schmuck brought a pricing error to attention and ruined it.

Don't you realize that many of these great deals are because of mistakes?

Don't think so. There are a LOT of Lowe's local to my area and for that compressor every single one of them had it +/- $25 of $400. Only one store had it for like $249, and they matched the $183. For the Bosch drill, this same store has the last one they have for $159. I mean, you would think that would be the difference in the pricing but that is not what I noticed at all - doing some searches around the place I grew up, which is an economic nightmare, shows no break for clearance pricing at all.

Who knows what their logic is, or if they are even using any kind of logic. But I am pretty sure they solved the whole store price-mach thing by just pulling the item from their website so that tells me they know when there is disparate clearance pricing going on amongst their stores. Not saying it's stupid/bad for them to do it, but it does make me curious as to why they do it.

Went to a local Lowes last week for this set, they had 3 left but the lowest they would go was $120. The tool Mgr. said he'd get in trouble if he sold it any lower but told me to call back in a week. I called back today and he checked the price for me and sure enough they were $34.00 And they were all gone...

GearWrench 56 pc Ratcheting Screwdriver set $17.50 is a good deal, what remains to be seen is if its a tool that gets used.

Working on my 25 year old GE dishwasher tonight, had a screw tucked back half behind a dealio, and I figured great chance to use the big ratchet head and flex drive, bleh, flex drive is a POS, going twisty corkscrew on me over a PH1 machine screw, impossible to keep the bit in the screw with even modest torque.

I ordered the Kett shears yesterday after seeing the post here. It had just gone out of stock when I ordered it at about 9 am yesterday, and I just got a shipping notice on it a few minutes ago! Due to arrive Oct 14th. Great deal for $22.92. Thank you!

Not really sure what you mean?
But you would have just ended up with a drill press vise instead of what you thought you were getting.
There was no "great deal" to ruin here.

You can't know that for sure. I have an email that states that a 648hd is on it's way. Also, the price on the 648hd in the link went up to $281, indicating they caught their mistake.

If I get that small vise, the credit card is getting charge backed. My receipt info is for the large vise.

You may not realize that you probably ruined the deal, but you did. Learn from it and keep quiet next time.

And to prove that slip up deals like this DO go through...

In July, I found this on a website-

This sand blaster is normally $268.99

It weighs 67 pounds.

I paid $29.18 for it and $8.99 shipping.

It currently is sitting in my garage. I'd imagine it cost more to ship it than I paid for it in total.

Let this serve as a warning that you never call or email when a killer deal comes along. You either buy or sit it out on the sidelines.

A warning? What are you guys going to do? E-beat him up? He found the deal in the first place--if he wants to inquire about it to check it's validity then so be it. It's amazing how many of you will sacrifice your integrity to save a few bucks. Let's relax a little bit and move on.

I don't get the mentality here.
They make a mistake and it's ok to take advantage of it? Seems kind of slimy to me.
FYI, I didn't order the vise or send them an email. The original post is right here from another forum I frequent...

Sorry but I could not justify getting a great deal knowing that it was because of a mistake, it's on the same level as quietly picking up the $100 bill that the little old lady dropped in front of you and pocketing it.

:stfu: Aren't you the one that pointed out the mistake for everyone to take advantage? Now you're holier than thou?

If you advertise something, and it's a mistake, until you print a retraction or a correction, you are obligated to follow through. That's the way retail works the last I checked anyway...

Yeah ok, the last time that happened to me (Dewalt 18v XRP batteries for 3 bucks a pop on Amazon) they shipped me cordless phone batteries, apologised after and issued a refund and told me to keep the batteries. They know how to get around it. They can play the game too.

He can do what he wants, and enquire about what he wants. Don't flame him for being honest. That's just sad

Yeah I know "STFU"

How's he being honest? He posted a deal that was clearly way below normal selling prices, and now he wants to chastise those who participated?

Nothing wrong with making a mistake, or posting a deal that turns out to flop, but then trying to say "I didn't participate because it's wrong" when you're the original poster of the deal?

There are four things that could happen.

1. Amazon will cancel the orders
2. You receive a drill press vise, and amazon pays for the shipping back to them.
3. You receive the vise it was labeled as.
4. You receive a drill press vise, amazon tells you to keep it and refunds you.

If you cant risk spending 15 min to ship back something that could have saved you over a hundred bucks, then you shouldn't be in this thread to begin with.

Last reply to this and then you guy's can whine all you want about it.
Look at my original post "$400.00 vise for $99.00 ???" It was posted as a question because it was very obvious that there was something strange about it.
First thing you guy's did was accuse it of being made in China so obviously you were all aware something wasn't right but some of you ordered anyway, not my fault.
When I confirmed that they did make a mistake and posted it here, I was then accused or should I say "warned" to never let them know that they made a mistake. Never did I accuse anyone of being dishonest by ordering the vise. When I posted the email from amazon confirming that it wasn't gonna happen, WRX still believe's he is getting a 400 dollar vise somehow for 99 buck's. Bash me all you want, could care less.

You posted it as a 'Question' in the hot deals thread? :lol_hitti:bs:

I don't know what i'm getting, but I know that I had nothing to lose either way. I also know that i'll be the guy that will give them grief if they don't come through with it. Win or Lose, what am I out? couple mins of time?

You guys realize Amazon was/is never going to ship you the $400 vise right? They're gonna send you an email in a few days saying there was a processing mistake and refund you the money. All he did was bring this to your attention sooner than you would've otherwise found out. He didn't kill anything because there was never any deal to begin with it was Amazon's mistake and they're under no obligation to proceed with the transaction.

You do realize that it was tool king and not amazon selling this right? I've received items that I beleive were mistakes from vendors through amazon. With some of the larger companies, the order comes in with the correct item #, their warehouse most of the time will not even check the pricing, they just ship the ordered item. This being the case, it was a 50/50 shot. Why even post the deal if he thought there was no chance of receiving it, or it was some moral issue?

You realize that some Amazon goofs have yielded the actual products, right?
