I needed to pull this bearing off a motor shaft, but the bearing was so close to the fan that I could not get any puller I had to get underneath the bearing. The only puller I had out of several that had thin pull hooks would not assemble without leaning outward too much to get underneath the bearing. After studying this quandry a bit, I came up with this solution. I used the pull hooks and side links off one puller, and pulled that one with another one. I left the side plates slack so that they would be able to surround the shaft. With this rig, I was able to pull the bearing up enough to switch to the standard puller to finish the job. Sometimes you gotta get creative!

I wore a face shield when doing the job, but that 6203 bearing did not take a great amount of force to remove. It was just difficult to get hold of.

That's very creative!

The background has intrigued me, whats up with the tool storage in the background? I would love to see more pictures of the tools stored on the wall.

So what about a bearing splitter and the typical bar-type push/pull puller? That would allow you to use threaded rod of whatever length.

I understand the task is already accomplished, but I mean for "next time" :D
