Interesting. Mine seems to work great for light duty. What would you consider as a stronger alternative?

I don't have them right in front of me but I know either the smallest flat or phillips doesn't. I was wondering about that too.
That's a great find!I recently bought Joby's new Gorillatorch Blade from Adorama for only $29.50 including free shipping. These are usually sold around the $50 range, up to as high as $60. So, $29.50 is almost 50% off.

FWIW, shopping on this site was a breaze. It was the best online shopping transaction I've ever done, period. Whatever purchasing system they use deserves two thumbs up.
Quick question for you Whia HD screwdriver purchasers.. Does your smallest slotted screwdriver have a hex bolster?
if anyone recalls my earlier post I didnt hear from grainger about the S K wrachets at all so I emailed them. Their reply was "sorry but they were discontinued by the manufactuer". They didnt outright state my order was canceled or they were or backordered, or they were out of stock, only that they were discontinued by the manufacturer.
I just received this email from them a few minutes ago;
The items listed below are temporarily on back order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Grainger Item: 12D277 and 12D278
Expected ship date: 12/14/2011

Do you have the black microfinish ones? My smallest slotted doesn't have the bolster.Yes, they all do.
Grainger tried selling me the "upgraded" 83 dollar ratchet!!!! I saw the charge pending on my credit card and I just called and cancelled that. Definitely check what card you used to purchase it and buyer beware!!!!

I just called Grainger, and they said they still have 7 (well now 5) of the ratchets (non indexing head) in Chicago. We'll see if I get them. And the beat goes on. I got the same email, with a ship date of 12/2. This, after receiving the voicemail a few days ago stating they were discontinued.
I wonder if somebody at Grainger is having a little holiday fun, delivering ratchets to some, making others' orders disappear then reappear on a whim? Is there a Mr. Burns running the company in a dark tower someplace, pressing a big red Cancel/Uncancel button while rubbing his hands together and saying "ehhhxcellent"?
Got mine today too! For some reason Ive never had a 1/2 flex head but I have had the need for one before....so I bought 2I was losing hope on the SK Ratchet Grainger deal. They called me once I placed the order last Friday and said it would be the 9th of December before they would come in. When I checked online, the order disappeared from my account. That with the reports of order cancellations I was giving up hope.
Got a call today from Grainger and they were at the store, awaiting pick up. Picked them up at lunch.

These things are much longer than I was expectingle sigh.
Wait, that actually sounds hopeful. Although its ETA was pushed back another 4 days.

I think a light duty is useful to have, but I think more versatility might be had if you started at 18v and at least 3/8" square drive. I've been looking at either the C3 1/2" sq drive impact or the M18 Milwaukee same.
I need to use my PS40 Impactor some more. When I first got it I used it for a couple small projects, and I happened to be doing a tear down on a long block, lots of fasteners of all sizes, and it wouldn't break loose jack. Bolts with a 5mm or 6mm hex bit and it would just rattle, vs my tiny 5" 1/4 drive microdrive ratchet took them right off. Maybe it was something adapter related, but checking into it further is on my list of things to do.
I owe somebody a big thank you for sending me to Ace Hardware. Who posted the ad for the Gearwrench wratcheting wrenches that was on sale at Ace for $9.99. I went in on Friday and bought the 4 piece metric and a set of Craftsman screw drivers for $9.99 each.
At the register, they sent me over to drop my name in the box for a drawing for the tool box. They called yesterday said ole Noggin had won. Went to pick it up.
Knuckle head son in law will probably get it.
Cheers!,
Noggin

The Vaughan clearance at home depot is well known. There was a thread here over the summer. I'm surprised your HD had any hammers left, mine are down to either nothing or a few shingle hammers stuck at ~$15.
last friday, made a few rounds to home depot looking for the rigid drill press deal and got the run around from a few different stores, decided to call a store about 20 mins from my house and got a really helpful lady that spent about 10 mins on the phone with me looking, she couldnt find it but took down my name and number incase she did. I had totally forgotten about it until today she called and said she found it and asked if I still wanted it, payed for it over the phone and went and picked it up tonight. Gonna call or email the store manager tomorrow to give her a great review!
just got my Lindstrom RX8150 cutters that were posted a few days ago from ebay, they look brand new

I just got my set and they look brand new. This is a great deal and I'm going to get a couple more. The street price on these things is around $60+.
got mine also. Used to do the spring clip mod on my duralast 1/4 ratchet.
Cutting spring steel on precision electrical cutters is a great way to put a big nick in the blades... they are typically not hardened for steel, they're made to cut copper and plastic.
I have to be careful with my Knipex's that I never cut RG-6... coax RG-6 uses a copper-plated steel center conductor.
