Everyone who ordered them last time seems to be getting USA-made ones. And if they aren't made here in the States they're made in Taiwan. No China.
well, not everyone... a few of us, including myself got the no country of origin ones, which some people are saying made in Taiwan, but with no reference to verify that information. and the ratchets themselves have no markings other than "L-AA" to indicate where it was made.

personally, i have no problems with made in Taiwan. A lot of my Taiwanese HFT tools have been great... but that's exactly the thing; I can go to HFT to get Taiwanese tools. When I order something Craftsman, I was really hoping to get the USA one...

plus, when you buy USA/Craftsman tools at a really deep discount, you know they aren't making profit on it, and another US worker is that much closer to losing their job.. ;-P

Why do you say that?

two months ago I had to warranty my 1/2" and I got chinese. its hard to tell from the picture, but they look chinese to me the craftsman appears to be larger, and deeper which it was on the chinese ratchet. even if you do get USA these aren't a whole lot better than RP so I would expect to have to warranty them some time then you"ll end up with a chinese POS you cant stand to hold in your hand or keep in your box

Didn't see anything about this so here goes..

The local Home Depot has a few channellock items just chilling off to the side on another rack instead of the normal setup. They're all marked down. 8" dykes for 10$ (437?), the #85 (IIRC) fencing tool for 10$, some crimping pliers (909?) for 10, and the "code blue" 8" adjustables made by Irega for $14. pretty sure that's 10$ off. I would have picked all of it up but I could only afford the adjustable :)

If anyone wants me to pick something up for you, I'll do it.

I was in HD today and they had a shopping cart full of this stuff near the checkout area. If you are looking for these deals, look around, not just in the aisle.

Same here.... At least for the hand tools....

I place an order on the second go-around. If I get one that does not have any markings on it, I'm going to request a trade for USA ones. If not, I'll be getting a refund.

I haven't used the premiums either. Just read the stories of them having troubles. Didnt know they had similar thicknesses. But for the price you can't beat that 3pc set.

The stories are from a very vocal minority, as most such stories are.

They're FANTASTIC ratchets, and I hope to pick up another set before they end up discontinued or outsourced.

HaHa still an excellent box for the money. Got one for $350 and the other for $240... LOVE THEM

Oh yeah, there a good box, I almost got the 26" wide 8 drawer top,8 drawer bottom set, but I got a good deal on this griplatch box,
I just hate all the restrictions they started putting on things. I'm surprised you can still use the coupon on impacts still.

I think the discounts will be steeper soon. I was talking to a guy from Lowe's about a miter saw station that is out of stock for my Jawhorse, and he mentioned a lot of the Rockwell stuff is being discontinued and replaced with new models.

Maybe, I've heard a rumor or two as well.

Lowes has their Kobalt crossform wrench sets for $24.98. They used to be $79.99. Both metric and standard.

See my kobalt crossform deal post from November. These wrenches have been $25 since then.

There are also a couple of posts on here.

Basically, those wrenches look to be priced at $25 all the time, and seem to be worth about that much. A decent buy, but make sure you look at them closely - not everyone likes the style.

They're also quite different from CrossForce and X-Beam profiles.

Hey what luck have you had with amazon? I did your search and found some sets of tools at 76% off but... all of the descriptions are the same? and the seller only has 1 feedback... Have you ever been stiffed on Amazon?

oh and because you wanted people originally to post deals they find, here's a welder at 75% off
